God this week I have to write about 1 or 2 paragraphs for all 100+ of my Feed and in-house sites :( I really hate writing, its one of my weakest points. Anyone have any ideas how I can do this with out all of them sounding the same. I have contacted my feed companies but to tell truth I am not sure they would even have descriptions longer that just one sentence. Can I get in trouble for altering other people adult web sites text to fit my site? :nowords:

Spend some time working on your own copy. If it takes a long time, that's just what it takes. I see sites... as well as actual DVD movies whose written descriptions are plain embarassing.
Do this: write your descriptions of these feeds in small groups at a time. Then the next day, go back and review them. By this I mean after this 24-hour cooling off period, sit there and speak what you wrote out loud... so you hear yourself saying it. Listen to how it sounds. This way you will hear awkward phrases, and you will think of improvements.
Another benefit to this: If YOU write, than YOU own it.

Ya I think making written descriptions is one of the hardest things to do, I have seen allot of really bad text in some really big sites. Its a fine line between erotic and cheesy. I am sure I will write most of it, its just that I have to do 100 of them. Like I have to write descriptions for 4 for transsexual sites, I don’t know what people that like that want to hear or expect. Its easy to do the graphic and all but when it comes to writing about it I am lost. I will do my best to write it all but think I should at lease see what other people are saying to look for trends ECT.
I just really wish my feed companies that I pay so much every month would help me out with this. :shifty:

Well man I dont think I will have to much time for clubbing :) This is my list of sites I have to write about a 5 or 6 full sentence description for, some as you can see have about 1 sentence from the feed company. I just got another e-mail back from a feed company they are laughing at me. Is it so weird to ask for a description, they make it sound like no one has ever asked before. :juggle:
I feel for ya man. This is a rought spot for me. I'm str8 but to try and capture what a gay man would say or want to hear is a challenge. I do have some gay friends so maybe I could try to bring them in on the process. Writing has never been a strong point for me to begin with. Sometimes I think it would be easier to just buy the damn descriptions!:dunce:

do you use spell check when you write for your site?
btw, you're writing your descriptions like you're trying to sell your members something. they've already bought a membership so you don't really need to use sales text on them... and if it sounds like you're trying to sell them, less may click. why not just tell them what's on each feed?
I will use spell check, and read them many times. 1 the text is for people that have not joined my service. 2 if I just say what’s in each site they will all in the end sounding the same. 3 for the feed company all I have to do is add something like “ your members will love this feed and it will keep them coming back time and time again” Or some BS like that
PS you can never get anyplace if your only solution is just to pay someone to do your work for you. In the end it would not even be your site, just allot of stuff you paid people to much to do. But hell maybe thats just me :honest:
it's just you. the most successful people i know pay people who are good at things so they are done right and get done quickly.
after all, you are the one telling the designers and writers what you want and the way you want it.

that's not how it works. many designers do not want to own sites or go through the problems involved with videos, customer service and so on. really good designers make much more than most of the paysite owners i know, btw.

wrong! i'm not a designer and do not do designs for other people. in fact, i pay designers to do my paysites although i make my own avs sites sometimes.
i think you missed the point. a designer who makes that much money often gets paid that much because they know what they are doing and they know what sells. they know how to make all those little extras that neither you nor i are capable of making.
