Which is actually quite annoying because, from what i gather, its not that people are voting for the conservatives more voting against the liberals which, following that recent scandal i can understand but, at the same time, wtf?

Well we still have hope, latest polls show him slipping thank God... but we'll see... because we really don't need his type of politics..
Yeah he could certainly set things back in Canada a couple of decades if he gets his way on certain things, especially the gay marriage law revokation :eek:

Yes it is odd isn't it? But not just does he want to revoke same sex marraige, but he wants to make abortion criminal again... like what planet did he show up from?
I got my fingers crossed though... hopefully at worst it will be a minority government which means we'll be doing all this again soon... but better that than him having a 4 year run at it...
And boy have I been spouting off about it too, at My Blog of course (hey what can I say, i love to write) and this has me motivated... after all I celebrated my one year legal anniversary on saturday and this guy wants to take that back? Not if I can help it
I hope they finally vote out those corrupt liberals, I will be watching the results tonight.

So me thinks I'd rather lose a hundred million in sponsorship scandals than all those programs that make Canada unique.

I find it funny that people are still blaming the liberals for that "scandal" when really.. it was pretty much proven that they had little to do with it.. it was mostly conservative Quebec Businessmen who were to blame for the whole thing.
Nobody from the Conservatives bothered to read the report, I think.
Canada has gone from being a hanger-on to one of the most important countries in the world under the Liberals.. let's see what the Reform Party is able to do with it. And don't kid yourself.. that's who your'e voting for... the Progressive Conservative Party doesn't exist anymore.. they all joined it to dismantle it... like the parasites that they are..

I get it that you think Ontario has too much power, and that's where most of the Anti-Liberal thing comes from. The fact that there's 8 times more of them doesn't really seem to register with people from the west.

I've always been for the liberals and I'm form the West! I always consider track records (good and bad) and the Liberals have done more good for Canada... The conservatives will be bahaaad for Canada...
Also, isnt Harper like the Canadian equivalent of Bush?

Stephen Harper is a trained economist....(Masters degree) which is frankly something that wouldn't be bad for any country. As for being an economist, well if the man can't add he can't be a very good economist. His so called 2% cut of the GST over 5 years will put approx. $250 in the pocket of a person earning $10 an hour wage. The Liberal tax cut on the personal income tax rate would give that same person $2000 in savings... which makes more economic sense?
Harper wants to give every Canadian with a child under 6 $1200 a year for daycare expenses. Oh and it is Taxable Income so take off 16% of that by the way. The 'stinking Liberals" on the other hand have put in place an agreement with ALL Provinces for a national daycare program.
Under Harper, medical insurance for most Canadians will rise at least to $350 a month based on a two tier system while existing costs are under $100 per person, again I suppose if you enjoy paying out money that much, you would vote for the Tories.
By the way, these same Tories are the one's who also want to criminalize homosexuality, want to criminalize abortion in all cases. Sound familiar? Should but I guess that's okay if that is what you want.
But whatever the views, we'll find out soon enough.

Harper has been a supporter of Two-tiered-health care, an opponent of Immigration and multiculturalism (In toronto, only half of my friends were white, the rest came from many of the different communites who make up a country like Canada. one of the things that makes us so cool... in the US, I think I've met two Asian men, one black man and three Hispanic men who weren't serving me something), and an opponent of Equal rights for gays and lesbians.
Harper has praised the US over and over and over again as he suggests that we roll over and play dead.
that alone should make you kinda scared.
But it doesn't.

not sure.. my neighbourhood is pretty much all white.
And I hang out in lots of places with lots of people, but nobody seems to integrate here.. maybe that's a California thing, but that makes very little sense to me.
Either way, I'd like it if people were a bit more mixed here.
