it wasn't a serious relationship, but it did happen once. it felt embarrassingly like something from hart to hart. eek!
My friends Joel and Joel were a couple for about 8 years.
Joel wasn't out to me when we first met (1992), and kept referring to "the spousal equivalent" without using a name or gender. Finally, I asked if "the spousal equivalent" had a name, he said "Yes, it's Joel" (which was basically coming out to me) and my response back was just "Well, that must be confusing." :)
They had to get used to a lot of phone confusion... particularly from salespeople or phone solicitors... but most of their friends had known both of them before they were a couple, so that was at least a little easier.
Now i wonder how many hetero couples there are with the same name? (Kelly and Kelly, or Sasha and Sasha, or Robin and Robin... unisex names...) I'd think that would be even more confusing...
my male friend chris was with a woman named chris for i think 9 years. we called them mr. chris or mrs. chris 'cause otherwise it was extremely confusing for all involved.
My boyfriend and I are both named Mark. We've run into more Marks this year than I've met in my entire life.
I am thinking of throwing a party just for guys named Mark. It will be called "Marks-A-Lot" (like the Magic Marker). Everyone will wear stickers saying either "Hello My Name Is Mark", or "Hello My Name Is Not Mark".
Nope but I have a good friend who went out for a few years with a guy who had a very similar sound name Brent & Brett but the last names were identical except for one letter... and O instead of an A in it... got very confusing after a night at the bar..:blush:
