CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Three men accused of running a sadomasochistic "dungeon" in rural Haywood County were in custody Friday, charged with performing illegal castrations.
Investigators from the office of Sheriff Tom Alexander said the men admitted performing at least eight surgeries on six consenting clients over the past year, including castrations and testicle replacements.

Seems it was "Master Rick" and his two slaves living in a rented house. The image of the house has both the American and Gay Rainbow flag waving. Sad for this will become more fudder for the anti-gay element.

You know, the really sad thing is that on the one hand, anti-gay activists are going to love this but it also paints a very bad picture of the BDSM community as well. Now, I've talked to people online who are into this type of thing. I, personally, like my testicles right where they are, but there are those who don't. What does one do when he's obsessed with the idea of being castrated? Where does he go? He'd have to find someone willing to do an illegal surgery. Who's to say if it's right or wrong when everyone involved in consenting. Say what you will but it's not like a person was having this done against his will. But the news is gonna make this look like it's something that usually goes on in a "Dungeon". I can tell you it is not. The story even goes on to imply that it was non-consenting by saying "Assuming that the victims consented to this — and we don't know that for sure yet — that doesn't make it a defense,". Are they really victims if this was something they went looking for? This stuff really makes me mad.

Things like this just disturb me to no end. I am tolerant of a lot of shit, but I really have very little patience for extremists of this nature. Regardless of how consensual it is or not, it's just not good for the community in the long run. God gave us testicles for a reason. If you don't want them, then have a sex change operation and do it the legal way. Back alley abortions are a thing of the past for a reason. Do we really need back alley castrations to paint a nasty image of the gay community?
What about the guy who went to that other dude's house a couple years ago and let him cut him up and kill him? I mean, that may have been consensual as well, but please...

These three are definately getting exactly what they deserve. As far as them being consenting adults, you last two make it sound like you almost have a "whatever floats their boats" opinion. Someone could stay busy peeling the skin off of pyschos to help them get rid of the imaginary bugs, that wouldn't be any more or less awful than this. These guys needed mental help, not missing body parts.

I agree that it's not good for the community, the gay one or the bdsm one. But you can't tell someone they should consider the community before doing something they believe in. Say that to the drag queens who rebelled at Stonewall. If they were so concerned with the community they would have done their drag behind closed doors so as not to upset the community. Gay people would never had sought out other gay people and met in bars or created parades and we'd all still be living in the dark ages. I'm not saying that these guys will usher in a new era of eunich pride, but it's not their fault our respective communities will look bad, it's the media who's doing it. That article made it a point to exploit the fact that these were gay men into bdsm and to point the finger as if these things were at the heart of this issue of illegal activity.
I didn't say that. Anybody is free to do what they wish. I just don't have to like it. That's why it's called an "opinion." But if these guys get prosecuted for doing it, I'll be only too happy to support the law in this instance.Quote:

In any case, regardless of the situation, these men were not doctors, and they were performing surgeries. There are laws about this sort of thing for damn good reason, and I fully support them. If I had a cousin who's brain broke and told him that he MUST have his ass cheeks removed, and some quack did it in his basement, I'd want the guy prosecuted to hell and back. I'd have really hard time saying "It was between two consenting adults..."

I googled one of the guys who was interviewed and came across a lot of sites. Apparently these people either don't like their balls, dick, often both and want them removed. Or they eroticise the removing of these.
And yes it gets filmed, and sold as porn in some places. Some of these guys who advocate castration and get off on it had links to underground online shops where you can buy videos or access to photos of guys castrating themselves, their buddies, strangers, etc.
Those sites seemed to be tied to other extremes - extreme pumping, silicone injections, scat - and not just going in the loo. Some extreme things I thought were not possble.
In the documentary they said these castrations are quite illegal and are done by very few doctors around the contry. Those who do either hide or travel to motels.
One doctor they showed worked in a dirty room in New York city, another one went to motels to castrate people.
The whole procedure is dangerous because of bleeding that may not stop, and development of infections that can get very serious very quickly.
And also people who end up getting castrated only to regret it, or doing it under the influence of alcohol or drugs talked into by other people who get off on it.
You are completely right DonMike. I just really suck at empathy, so I'm quick to judge when people want something I can't relate to wanting. Which makes it hard to even imagine what brings people to the point of wanting something I can't relate to. You're not like that at all, and the more I read from you the more you kind of become my hero, because you make me wish I was a smarter, nicer, more open minded person. If I had just a few close friends like you, I would feel like a completely different person.
For some reason for the last few days I've been emersing myself in the strange, sad, and macabre on the internet, and it's put me in a really wierd funk. I read very detailed reviews of a ton of horror movies, looked at huge databases of "ghost photos", watched traces of death, and studied the effects of depleted uranium weapons (two words that will haunt you for the rest of your life: Harlequin Baby), etc. I have no idea why I did all that, but it's left me feeling like I need to scrub my brain. If all that shit shoulda taught me anything, it's don't sweat the small stuff, especially other peoples business.
I just zoned out and watched those two smilies argue for like ten minutes. This is just a really off day....week....life! Sorry for the babbling, I know I suck at writing a post that has a point.
You know, it does say something if many of these guys are regretting their decision. When one goes in for sexual reassignment surgery they have to go through therapy for two years to make sure they are making the right choice. Maybe if this were a clinical procedure they would have something similar. I wonder how many guys would go through it after two years of therapy. LOL!
When I see someone online talking about castration fantasy I always think of that cartoon with Daffy Duck where he does this magic trick that entails his drinking nitroglycerine and eating explosives and all kinds of stuff, with a grand fanale of him blowing up. As his ghost rises out of the ashes up to heaven he looks down at his audience and says "It's a great trick... but you can only do i t once!". LOL!
