I have been a member of this group for awhile now, and believe it might be time to get a promotion. I think its time for a change, and if elected it will be a new day for webmasters all over the world.

This was just a joke BTW :bush:
the answer is clear :D
Well I like that guys program, but numbers can be funny we all know that, like what TGP did he get that traffic from, how long did it take to get those numbers, and was it only at the very start of the of the site when no one had ever seen his content/site before?
Max, you have recently become an accepted member of the board after some rough periods. Suggesting that you should now become a moderator, even as a joke, is very inappropriate and shows shades of your former piss poor attitude. You can become a moderator someday if you put in a few years, not just two weeks of good behavior and you have some real industry experience.
You are barely out of bootcamp-- it is not time for Officer Candidate School.
I was just joking with it I know their is no chance in hell man, and really I do not even care. I made it last night cuzz it was so dead I just though that some good old hate would at least get people talking. I know it my be weird but people do respond to that overwhelmingly, I was just trying to liven things up a bit, even at my own expense. >:(
this a joke you say? You thought a need to wake up the forum?
Now you will see a percentage polling of like and dislike of you.
so far 86% against you

Some like me dont have a need to live in a forum. We work for a living with our various Gay ventures.Quote:

And yes, I voted against you. Saying you are sorry does not mean you SUDDENLY SAW THE LIGHT.
If you do not like me so much then block me, I am sure I will miss your insightful feed back, I must say this is working in the way it was intended too, if not a few hours later than I would have liked ;)
I hope we are not seeing a return of the old, abrasive maxpower.Quote:

You put yourself in the public forum, you make yourself a target for criticism, and as a moderator, you have to be able to take it, to an extent, with a grain of salt.
You have posted some very controversial posts during your tenure as a member here, and yes, recently you have toned down your rhetoric and started making some level headed valuable contributions in your postings, to the point that you started regaining some respect..however, a few weeks of being a good community member does not make one qualified to be a respected moderator.
A moderator should be even tempered, patient, understanding, helpful, non-judgemental, open minded, and should measure his/her published comments and try to only publish remarks/comments without anger or malice. Obviously moderators are people too, and sometimes they cannot be all of these things all the time, but most of the moderators on this board embody most of these traits, and have garnered the well deserved respect of the board members over a loooooong period of time of consistent personality, behavior, and posting quality.
Whether your post was a joke or not is irrelevant at this point. It was posted at a time when you were just beginning to gain a little respect, and by posting it you showed that perhaps at times you are a little quick on the draw with your comments and do not think things through before you post.
Ask yourself honestly, joke or not, do you think you embody the characteristics above that a moderator should have?
I have nothing personal against you at all, but I think that you probably should take a step back, contribute to the board for a long time in the "new" Maxpower that we started to see, and when the time is right, if ever, you would, if you personify what a moderator should be, be asked at that time to fulfil that responsibility.
hey, i've been an active and - i hope - contributing board member here since Dec 2003 and no one has asked me to be a moderator. the truth is not everyone is ever asked to moderate a board and certainly not someone with a very recent history showing confrontation as a preferred communication method.
We have Moderators?
only in theory ;)

Thax man I really appreciate that long post, you are right I do not think I would make a good monitor on this site or really any other for that matter. I am really quick to say some thing and do not think about all the possible ramifications of the statements. And to tell the truth I work really long hours and get really stressed out, so from time to time its really easy for me to go off on someone for almost no reason. I am glad that some of my posts are becoming more coherent from you point of view and will really try to focus on that, but from time to time especially late in the day I am sure I will say something controversial. :baby:

actually i believe dzinerbear and bec may be mods, and i think others have been as well...
lee? do we have moderators?
We have these, or so it says, I really thought that it was more of a status thing, and had no real power like the president of Iran for instance. As I understand it they can not have you removed or remove you threads or anything like that, if they could I am sure that Xstr8guy would have done anything he could to shut me up at some point or another LOL :bush:
Chilihost, BDBionic, DonMike, Xstr8guy, AusCoding Allan, andymike, Bec, Dzinerbear
i was a mod on another board. i could remove posts, move posts and do some other stuff. i don't think i could ban posters, but then i never tried.
the thing about a good mod is that they leave their personal feelings out of the actions they take as the moderator.
I agree with that, and have seen some boards where the mod’s run amuck, its just that I have never seen any changes made by anyone, but Lee. I just used that Xstr8guy thing as an example, hell even while Lee was away, none of the listed mod’s where in charge, gaystoryguy posted the contests, but still could not call a winner, I just think that it appears that Lee keeps a tight control of the board himself, and does not delegate it much at all “not that I think that is a bad thing in anyway” :king:
you would have thought that by now, given our brief history on this forum you'd at least get the name right... as for xtrastr8 guy not moving or shutting your threads down, it is because he is a moderator and shows amazing self restraint and thinks of his position and the foum before his own personal likes and dislikes, as do the other moderators here.Quote:

Sorry about the name thing, I will get it right in the future :)
I agree that their is not real need, but not sure that guy used that much restraint LOL. Hey how about this are u a mod? Or I know JustBryce is how about just removing this one post? I am not the only one that had a question about that bass did not really know and she have been around for years. Or just a quick answer from Lee could clear this up for everyone.
Indeed :)Quote:

You are right about mods keeping their personal feelings out of things to, thats the good thing about the group of mods we have on GWW, they do their thing and leave it at that.

Heck I don't care as long as no cencorship is being made and just threads moved around and really very insulting / harmfull / CP threads or postings removed I'm fine with that
no. what he's saying is they have the same privileges that i do on his board femalewebmasters.com where i am a mod. i can delete threads, move them, edit them, etc. i very rarely do anything because i'm not the thought police - just someone to make sure that nothing happens that will disrupt the community as a whole.

"numb" is okay but it tends to leave me always feeling dead , it's great in a buisness enviroment when you want to withold feeling but it really sucks in a dating atmosphere when the other person wants more than an ATM transaction over dinner. :cry:Quote:
