Another AEBN Error

Yet again all the AEBN feeds are full of errors this month, first off NONE of the movies play at all, second most of the clips for the movies were not working even before the feeds went down forcing people to watch the whole movie. It like a full time job for me now every month I have to check all AEBN’s work too see what is wrong now. I suggest every time ABEN can not offer a product that is continuously working for the whole month that NONE of us have to pay them. I bet then they would not have problem like this EVERY month

Oh boy here we go again. My feeds just say disabled. Do you get anything like that now?

I wonder if this is 2257 related?

Their 2257 statement reads:

AEBN, Inc., does not produce any of the video content distributed through our network. All video products offered on this site have been licensed from their respective studios or producers (the "Licensor").

All of the Licensors that provide content licensed to AEBN represent that all models appearing in their productions are over 18 and that the Licensor maintains all appropriate 2257 disclaimers or the equivalent.

a lot of companies do not have the legally required 2257 statement. but aebn feeds were down quite regularly when we used them.

Ok great thanks for that insight I hadn't known this was a regular issue with them.

Not only does AEBN not have the legally required statement, in the statement they do have they admit they don't hold any records. They're a big company and they didn't get to where they are by being stupid and I'm not going to second guess them, but their statements seems a glaring liability.

My feeds do not say disabled anymore it did at first so I paid them so money thinking that was the problem, but then the feed opened ok but the movies did not play. The whole thing is a joke with them, if I owed that company I would get rid of every tec guy they have. They are the poorest quality feed company I have, I used to really like them but every month I have to play this game with them, its getting really old.

I just wonder how many members we have all lost do to their fuck ups? If all of you guys will drop them I will too. :penny:

Ya LOL man, but when the movies finally do play try selecting the individual segment parts of the movies you will see most of the do not work forcing your members to see the whole movies other than the part they wanted. Its ok if they want people to only be able to start for the being of the movies, but they should not offer the option of selecting segments if they are not going to make it work, that just pisses people off and makes us all look bad. :egg:

And we all know they just do this so we all will run up more of a bandwidth bill every month.

Yes I agree. I just got the beta for Office 2007 a few days ago and DAM if Microsoft, a multi billion dollar company and world leader in software creation can't get their own technology right, you can't blame AEBN to much. But it does suck we all suffer because of it.

Sorry I can not be that nice about all this, if it only happened like 1 or 2 times that would be one thing but every month Damn. Every other feed I have NEVER have problems like this, its just shows they really do not care about their product at all anymore. I do not know what happened like 6 months ago but ever since then they do nothing but fuck shit up. Unbelieveable I called back 30 minutes later and and lady answered again. I told her I was calling back and she asked the tech about the problem and he said I would have to call back on Monday. I hold her she needed to fix the problem because ALL of aebn's feeds were down. She said there was nothing she could do. So I guess all the feeds might be down until Monday. Seriously who is running this company because I want to personallly talk to them. I have also emailed tech support to see if I can get a response from them.

I am telling you man, they do not give a shit about us at all or our members. The first clue was when they stopped return my e-mail, to tell the truth I don’t even bother to e-mail them at all anymore. The only thing they are on top of is making sure they are paid every month. How many people will drop a site because of this problem over the week-end and when did the problem really happen? I am willing to bet it was not today. People are not going to blame them people are going to be pissed at us about this. I wish someone would sue them, for breach of contract, or for the loss of the members we will have to suffer for this and all their other fuck-ups. Yes I know it almost impossible to show we lost members because of them, but we all know it will happen to all of us.


BTW it would be a good time to check you bandwidth usage over this week-end and see if the are fucking you.

We noticed a problem today with the new firefox update. I don't know if that has anything to do with your guys problem, just a suggestion.

Here the the response from the email I sent to tech support.....

"i sent this information to my supervisor and it is not that i do not care but nothing can be done until monday."

It is just me or does that seem completly crazy? If I owned AEBN I don't care if it was my ass going down there to fix it I would get it fixed.

aebn has always had less tech support than other companies. i remember we used to do business with them and after their tech guy went home for the day, that was it. so it doesn't really surprise me that there is no tech support on weekends.

just my opinion, but i don't think that's a great way to run a company whose supplies content for other sites whose retention depends on those feeds.

Ya sounds like the Global Leaders in Video on Demand do not work week-ends or pay overtime. The whole thing is so fucked up they are going to lose more money in bandwidth charges that it would cost to get someone to fix the problem “it might have been a good idea to make sure it was working before they took off too” but I guess they can still charge everyone the full price for their programs so I guess it does not really hurt them as much as us. The Tech guys need to need fired, I know the site is under a new owner now maybe that has allot to do with this stuff too.

If I have 1 more problem with them I will drop their feeds, its not worth pissing off my members with their bullshit every month. Its like a game with them every month to see what is fucked up now, but I have the felling that I am the one that is losing this game :(

Damn and all the money they make!

My hosting company Phatservers.com kick ass. Any hour of the night I've ever asked for a domain setup or something activated, or tweaked, I have ALWAYS gotten a response within 10 minutes AND had the request completed within an hour. I'm a stickler for service to so when I get it good and go on about it just as I do bad service lol

I think I might be done with AEBN. I hate how their company is ran. They have great content but have had so many problems. If it wasn't for their content I would of been long ago. I remember a couple years ago there was a huge problem, after every update their servers would be crawling. Many webmasters requested they fix the problem many many times but nothing was ever done. Members complained and cancelled because of this problem. Finally I was fed up, I posted on their board and got other webmasters to also complain because they wouldn't upgrade their servers to fix the problem. One of the webmasters who posted spent over 10k a month on their feeds plus what I spent but it really took going through alot of shit just to make them upgrade their damn servers. I think one damn webmaster spending over 120k a year on their content they would care more about us but it seems like they don't give a shit about us. They are only there to collect their money. It is just ridiculous running a leased feed company like they do.

They were working for me two days ago I know that much.

I started out working for the cable company in customer service. I'd hate it when the cable would go out for a few minutes, or seconds, and we'd get fluded with people wanting a full days credit LOL

AEBN tech emailed me back and tried to now say it was because I need to pay my bill. That is such bullshit. So all these webmasters that get the message feeds have been disabled haven't paid their bill, give me a break.

Well maybe it just happens yesterday or today then man, the difference between this and cable is one its not just a few hours more like 3 days +, and with cable you do not rely on them to keep your members happy “retention”, just individually use it for entertainment. We will all lose maybe 5% of members because of this maybe more, its really easy to cancel a membership to a site and people are just looking for any excuse to do it. This make all of use look really bad, and like I said before members will blame us for this,not them :ill:

That is very strange. I have only ran into one other webmaster who said their feeds were working. GFY there is tons of webmasters whose feeds are not working.
