15 lbs.
I've lost 15 lbs.
And I have cheekbones.
And a neck.
And the slightest hint of abs.
I've kinda given up on the dream of having a full 6 pack by November, but I'll have one by early next year anyway..
but MAN, I'm missing beer most of all.

This thread needs pics! :jasun:
But congrats on your progress!!!
I'm not QUITE ready for pics just yet.
Let's wait until I'm done.
Post pics or I post the ones I took on LA :D
and post the diet plan, please :D
I have a really easy diet plan, I use every few months to lose a pound or 2. You can eat anything you want for one meal, but you can only eat one meal every 3 days. You will lose weight LOL and do not have to pay anyone for food or a BS book.
Max, that is one of the most unhealthy things you can do to your body. It may "work" when you are younger, but in the long term you are going to do serious damage to your body. Please, take good care of yourself.
Well I do not know about all that man, it can be really bad for you if you take it to far “anorexia” but its not as bad as being like 50 ponds overweight. I have also heard some studies that say a starvation diet can actually be much better for you, and can equal a much longer life. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/...in514443.shtml their are many other studies being done now about this as well, I am sure the people that sell diet food will say differently, but fasting can really be Very healthy.
Jasun, Congrats!
Hey, maybe we can be there as moral support for each other at the Gay Phoenix Forum. I just started the Zone Diet yesterday. I'm doing the daily meal delivery which has been tasty so far, but I won't have that luxury in Phoenix.
Maybe if I tell everyone here that I'm on the diet, then there will be a couple of hundred people there that can beat my ass when they see me going for the Vodka and Cheesecake at the conference.
I have lost weight too! I feel much better. Two more weeks. Got my abs of steel tape lol!
Have you read that report???
"In two and half years Pomerleau has lost 45 pounds. The extreme thinness has meant more brittle bones and a decreased libido, but his health, he says, is better than ever:"
That's pretty messed up. I have terrible eating habits but I'm working on changing it. I know my health is being compromised by what I eat. It's simply a matter of eating healthy foods rather than crap. It's just a matter of getting away from fast food and getting back to eating veggies for me.
Well that might have been true for him, and I tried to use the most creditable source I could find, but those are both easy problems to fix. More calcium, and some testosterone replacement would probably fix both problems. This guys is like 50+ or something to start with from what I recall.
This is still a on going area of study and I am sure you can fine some that will disagree, but its really not as bad as some try to make it out to be for various reasons.
Congrats, Jasun! That's great. I think I'm going to have to look into this diet. I need to lose my belly. :)
You know.. it's funny you should mention Phoenix. I was.. and remain.. a bit concerned about old habbits.. one of mine being a total drunken pig at convention parties.
I mean, I get my business done and all, but being a Rep of "Fratmen", I'm kinda expected to be a drunken rowdy Fratboy. Which, to be fair, is pretty much what I am.
hoever.. sure.. how's this.. we'll hang out together, make sure we stay away from the cheese cake, stay away from the ice cream cakes and chocolate mouse.. and maybe stick with Soda and lime one of the nights?
Oh, and Max.. Remember... next time you're going to give advice on any subject?
Don't.
Actually.. My cheat day is Sunday.
I'm leaving the convention a day early so I can join my gay sportbike rider's club at the end of their Three-day Death Valley ride.
I'll meeting up with them at the last stop.. Kernville, CA on Sunday Night.
Last time I was in Kernville, I got caught at 3AM streaking with a cop.
no.. not by... with.
Hoenstly, it's the alcohol.
Cutting that out means on the weekends I'm up earlier and in better shape to go out and do something physical.
It means that I eat better at night.
It means that my metabolism is faster through the week.
It also means that I feel healthier and dont' have hang over food on Saturday and Sunday.
Congratulations on your weight loss! :cheerleader:
Problem: Jasun getting thinner makes me look fatter...
Solution: Must eliminate Jasun.

Hmmm, if I had any photoshop skills I would put Jasun's face on this woman's body. Buy I don't. So just try to picture it. Okay?

The problem with diets is that they NEVER work, unless you are going to spend the rest of your life on this diet, and what I would assume from situation you are in now is that will not happen. My way is more painful and would take some willpower, but its fast, easy to follow, and once you lose the weight all you have to do is repeat it when ever you put on a few extra pounds, so really you can eat or drink what you want.
Its really simple if you body is putting on fat you are eating to much, if your body is telling you that you need to only eat lets say every other day then that is what you should do. You can make all kind of excuses and try any fad diet you want, but in the end if you do not have control “normally the problem to start with” you will fail.
As I see it you have 2 choices, 1 just eat when ever you want and not care about your weight, or 2 eat what your body tells it needs. You are just deluding yourself with this diet BS, and after a few months will just go back to what you did before.
The most sage advice that I received from a trainer was that "Diets are bad for you. You have to make it a lifestyle change."
It really has to do with maintaining a healthy diet, but also allowing yourself the little extravagances here and there. Really, it's just about eating sensibly.
The way you're doing it, Max, is NOT a healthy way of doing it. Any doctor will tell you that. You have to maintain a steady, consistent diet in order to maintain proper weight and health. If your goal is just to lose weight, you can do it your way, but you're not doing your body any favors.
Actually, when you starve yourself your body goes into "starvation mode", meaning that it believes it's food supply is cut off so it begins to store fat and burn it slower. The trick is to get your body to burn fat faster. This is done through proper diet and exercise.
I just started back on the Suzanne Somers plan (with a few moderations that will make it easy for me to stay on it always rather than treat it like a "diet"). And I signed up for Gold's Gym yesterday (boy are my arms sore). I won't be looking all hot and sexy like Jasun by Phoenix, but hopefully by next summer I'll be able to take my shirt off at the beach and not have PETA try to push me back into the water.
It is so cool to see you guys working out! The one thing that I was taught is every body is different and reacts to diet and exercise different.
Now we all know I have had to basically start from scratch and with proper training and diet I have totally transformed my body. Well also a bit of extra test doesn't hurt! Some of you guys should try a cycle of that just to kick start the muscle mass. Also making sure you fuel that body right after working out. You will see great gains from that.
WOOF!:broccoli:
See I do not want to argue about all this, and I am sure it is different for different people, but this “burning fat faster” is kind of BS, and an excuse to be able to keep eating as much if not different food that allot of “diet plans” push so people will not really have to deal with the fact they are eating too much to start with. As well as not really make any real scarifies, I just think this is a no win situation and why some many people fail with their “diets”
If you do not give your body too much food to eat their is nothing to turn to fat, I really believe they say this stuff to make the “diet” not sound so bad, but in the end its going to come down to scarifies and willpower no matter what they say to sell you a book or diet food. I look at it as, if you can not go 2 days with out food you will never be able to stick to any diet to start with.
I also think its best to lose all the fat first then work on building muscle mass, this is harder but in the end faster. This way after you lose all the fat you can change your diet to one that will help building muscle mass you will need, that the “diet” will really interfere with. Again I believe most “experts” say allot of this stuff because they believe most of their clients really have no willpower to start will, and just want to hear the easy way out with out really any sacrifice.
...and that was "Losing Weight in the 1970's" with your host, MaxPower. And now, an ABC afterschool special starring Scott Baio and Kristy Mcnichol"

I saw Jasun on Friday and YES the Diet is working ya look AWESOME as usual........(yeah yeah..no stalker jokes either)
hehehehe see ya in Phx
Aw.. you're sweet.
And yes, all my friends in SF who hadn't seen me in a couple months all remarked that yes, I'd lost a considerable amount of weight.
I can stay on this plan a lot easier than a "Starve when you're fat" plan, and I've gotten the reesults I want.
