TOTAL Success at Phoenix.

OK, so yea... I was one of the people right off the top saying that we'd not go to Phoenix for the Gay show... "It's Segregation"... "It's Unnecessary"...

I will happily admit that I was wrong.

Having semiars and forums aimed diretly at the gay side and stacked with our friends and colleagues was perfect. Being able to have everyone discussing everything from a gay point of view made us all feel like we were the focus and not the "Oh, and for the gay people here..."-like afterthought.

the Networking tent was a brillian idea, and the snack room was great too.

Thanks so much to all the people who helped make the show a success.. the sponsors, CCBill and all the speakers.

Don Mike, Morgan, Douglas from Cybersocket, Madam and Roy, Jake Cruise, Mark Dwyer, Andy Dill, The guys from Lavender Lounge (and especially Mark who had his finger in my ass crack for a total of about 3 hours), The guys from MaleFlixx, Brian Randall and Cameron from Hard Gay Feeds the entire Raging Stallion crew for their hospitality, Brian Dunlop, Andy Dill, Chris Ward for trying to talk to me thorugh the laryngitis, Kent Taylor for not only some amazing advice but allowing me to sip himthe tongue, my friends from Just Us Boys, The GREAT guys from Next Door Male (Especially Tommy, Christian and Miles who really helped make the parties a blast), Rainey, Holly and Tim (I think I had my hand on HIS ass for half the show, too), Ken Knox and Jeff Roenberg from GayVN, Chad Knows Law, Douglas from CCBill, Justin Tyner (who did a very good impression of me at my first show), Mick from Dirty Tony, Bec and Sha, Ken, Mike, Dorian and everyone else that I just can't list lest I run out of ink.

I can't wait for next year.

(oh.. just a few tips... next year let's do it at a bigger hotel. when I can touch the ceiling in the lobby, we have a problem... Next Year... ALL Sponsors please remember that the gay crowd is much more health conscious and only having Large, Xtra Large and Behemoth-size T-shirts is a bad idea. EVeryone was walking around looking like Mrs. Roper. An finally.. the snack room was amazing.. let's try to have a few more Healthy snacks in there like Cliff Bars and cheese or even nuts... and when I can nit pick about such banal things.. you KNOW the show was a success.)

Yep, the first Gay Phoenix Forum was a huge success. The bad things that happened: The first day, the hotel did not want to check people in until 3 PM. The hotel did not have the bar or restaurant open. All rooms were non-smoking. The parking lot had a huge tent in it thus no place to park.

The good things that happened: The networking opportunities were fantastic! An amazing number of new faces and some veteran businesses showed up that hadn't been to a show before. The seminars were excellent. The evening events were fun and provided more opportunities for networking and business building. Jeff and Skyler got spanked by Madame. New friendships were made. Old friends had great times. We all left thinking it had been a great show.

I wish I had stayed out last night to party down with everyone one last time, but after getting only 3 and 1/2 hours sleep the night before, I was BEAT. I went back to my room and promptly passed out at 11pm -- despite Rob Novinger and Mary Gillis' insistence that I accompany them to Dick's. God knows on any other night I would have gone along just to spend the night drooling over Tony Rios and Tashi (not to mention bond with Mary, one of my favorite people in the business), but I was just too doggone tired. Plus all the boys I wanted to hook up with were too busy hooking up with each other! LOL! :)

Oh well... there's always next year, right? :)

I had an amazing time at GPP but after I always feel so hung-over. Not literally, but figuratively as I go through industry-event withdrawl. On good days, like today, I really love this business!

It was really a great networking forum but, as always, I wish it had lasted just few days longer since there are so many people I didn't get to meet...or do!

I can hardly wait until Internext, the next event I plan to attend. Hope to see you all there.

I agree that the Gay Phoenix Forum was great. Having run conferences in the past, it was well-organized and on-time. I like that not only were social events scheduled, but they were also held on locations that permitted mingling. Unfortunately, while I met lots of the people that I wanted to meet, I missed quite a few. Oh well, there's always next year.

The Gay Phoenix Forum was an awesome show. It was great networking to have a completly gay show. I think the show will grow even more next year and hopefully they an do it in a bigger hotel. It was great to see familiar faces and great to meet new ones. :)

I agree totally! In fact, you were one I missed. But there is always next year. Thanks to everyone who made it a great trip all around for me! Next year, more aspirin.
