If whilst all of our troops are in Afghanistan and Iraq, North Korea sent a nuke our way, we'd be royally fucked and worst of all, its something that we would have all seen coming too :(

They didn't actually sent a nuke your way but rather did nuclear testing with a tiny bomb - I heared estimations South Korea did saying something about the destruction power of 550 Tons of TNT.
That should give quite a nice firework, ey?
For comparison the firework over Hiroshima had roughly 15.000 tons and Nagasaki 21.000 tons worth of TNT.
North Korea now is an unwanted member of the illustrious party of countries owning nuclear weapons.
Never the less this development is rather disturbing due to the fact of the government in power in North Korea.
It is interesting to see how the nations of this world handle this situation...

Well man, if they did sent a nuke our way we would not really need any ground troops at all. A few of those nuke submarines that we paid so much for would wipe that country off the map. Hell I am not sure it would be safe to move troops in for the next 1000 years after that. You do know we have some really BIG nukes and that just one missile can carry like 10 war heads each would be more that 20X as big as anything they could make. Seriously maybe 5-10 missiles like this could turn that whole country into nothing but a radioactive whole in the ground.
I really do not see that happening, they know more about our capabilities than I do I am sure so not really much they can do but bolster. Hell their is allot of talk that what they blew up was not even a nuke at all, we will have to wait to see. Even if they have a few nukes no way they a small enough to fit on a missile anyway.
The only people I really worry about getting nukes are these religious nuts that think they will get some reward in heaven if they die in battle. No sane person or country would ever launch a nuke at us first, that would most that just kill them, but their county, culture and in some case about their whole race. Nukes are not what they where 60 years ago trust me, we do not just have nukes to take out city’s but ones to take out states or even small countries. :rip:
yup - the only "type with nukes" that I worry about are the Wako type wackos (religious) that want or have one.

war is inevitable , our weapons continue to gain in strength and numbers and i'm really not sure there will be a "safe-place" and/or what kind of a world would be left to live in after a mass nuclear holocaust.

Personally I think China will now do something about all this, they for sure do not want us to give Japan nukes (that we will end up having to do) so my guess is that they will put a stop to all this before to long.

In a way I do understand why Bush does not really want to talk with these Governments. Seems all it ends up in is them asking for more and more compensation for their bad behavior, and these are Governments we want to overturn and by talks with them it also does legitimatize them in a way. All that said we should still have back door talks with these people, but not sure we should give them anything more does not seem to work every well in the long run.Quote:

I have to say that in any unlikely scenario, I hope there is never some automatic retalation that results in any country being "wiped off the map". Countries have civilians in them, men, women and children. What their crazy government does, they do not necessarily support, and a mass death sentence isn't necessarily the answer or the moral thing to do.
