I love the show! It's great. And I'm particularly impressed by the show's committment to the gay couple.
And LOTS of straight women love to watch two men kissing or having sex -- just as lots of straight men like to watch two women together. Women are sexual creatures too, you know. :)

Yes, many women LOVE to see two men having sex. I am one of those. Less work for me and still a good feeling all around.
I dunno what it is. I have theories though. Women, by nature, like to express their emotions. And in sex, I frankly can't see how you can't hide your emotions (unless its no good). So we enjoy the visual as well as the physical. Women also have a need to experience pleasure without the emotional attachment. So, have two guys have sex, then you don't need to be emotionally involved.
Ditto San. I hate straight porn. I'd rather watch gay porn and the only thing in my porn collection is gay porn. Most of my girlfriends prefer it as well, including the lesbians. There's probably more women than men reading the Nifty archives ;)

Whether much of it is any good or not, I don't really know since I don't read it. In terms of tv, right now Stargate Atlantis is freaking huge and Supernatural is getting there (and a lot of that slash fic is incestuous since the male leads are playing brothers). Ahh, and I'm forgetting Lord of the Rings -- the movies spawned a crapload of real person slash fic about the actors. While the movies were in production and screening at theaters, that was a really enormous fandom. A lot of cross-writing in that fandom though as many writers wrote both character fic and actor fic. There's also, I think, quite a bit of real person slash fic about all the actors who work on the former WB since there's a lot of cross-show friendships.
