They are now calling their company:

MWE Interactive with the same address. Are they for real? or a scam?

Totally fraudulent. I just posted about them a few days ago. They're so sloppy, they didn't even realize they'd hit me up a year ago with almost an identical scam.

The deal is they give you a huge order on a credit card, then charge it back a couple months later.

They didn't nail us, but several others weren't so lucky.

Try asking them for references to some of the "dozens" of major studios they work with. They will probably stop responding. :)

Oh... and that address is a Mailboxes, Etc. store. :)

I have an email that you sent me a year ago, just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there too, they are making the rounds again this year. And have been contacting my producers again. The funny thing is it's the same guy too, just different email address and changing the company name.

They're scammers. They hit us up with their bullshit a couple of years ago.

Your experience has been a little different than mine. I started selling some of my dvds and some footage over 6 months ago. They never paid with a credit card, in fact that is how I prefered to make payment and they were adamant that they only made payments via direct payment or certified cheque. I need to fix up my box covers, which is why I think my sales in general are not as high as they could be, but the have been very fair with me. One thing about them is that they are extremely finicky with what they will buy.

Mari, since you're new to the GWW community and your experience differs so much from the many, many other people that have dealt with these folks, could you perhaps provide us with links to your website, DVD store, or maybe a listing to what other retailers are marketing your products? I did a Google search for "triple xxx home video" and nothing came up, which is unusual even for a small studio marketing its titles.

The problem that everyone I've talked to has had with with MWE is whenever you ask them (or, more precisely, him) anything - names of other studios they've worked with, how exactly they take orders (since they claim not to have a website and market via direct email), there are never any answers. And the distributors that have been burned by him know him well.

So since, as far as I know, no one here is familiar with you or your company, it would be great if you could point us to some links where we could see what you produce. No offense, but it's one of the oldest tricks in the book for a scammer to just make a bogus post attesting to how wonderful the scammer is, so anything that sets that concern to rest is a good thing :)

1. that URL is a rebranding of National A-1's Hotmovies website.
2. The other website (triplexhomevideo.com) referenced on the VOD site does not have a legally compliant 2257 statement.
3. The phone number listed on the site reverses to an unlisted home phone
4. The 2257 address reverses to Steve Johnson at Shoreline Marine, in an area with an area code different than the phone number for the site
5. Coincidently, MWE Interactive happens to claim its offices (or, rather its MBE Mailbox) just a few miles away.

Now... that isn't to say that your company isn't real and legitimate, but I just happen to find it awfully coincidental that no one's ever heard anything good about this company MWE, which claims to sell tens of thousands of DVDs through direct email, yet has no website, no phone, operates from a free webmail address, and has as its business address a Mailboxes Etc location... and then someone that no one's ever heard of before that (apparently) doesn't produce gay content pops up out of nowhere on a gay webmasters board and defends this company with the completely improbable marketing plan.

I thank you for the website link, and I don't mean to be a dick... but the whole thing still sounds really fishy to me, even now. If this company were as large as it claims to be, it would have some means of taking orders, and some companies that people have actually heard of to provide references.

1. It sounds like you have decided to formulate a opinion on MWE already and now me.

2. There are a number of people on here who post who clearly dont have a working website at all.

3. You have seem to put yourself in a position of judge and jury which always makes me skeptical.

4. MWE and us are in two different cities, two different counties. Are you saying that someone has to do business with someone outside of the state in order to be legitimate?

5. What you think about MWE doesn't have any affect on me, and I never said they were a large company, you said that. All I said was I sold product to them.

6. Maybe there is some jealousy on your end, I dont know. MWE can be pretty anal about what they carry there is no question about that, they picked our titles they didn't choose yours. That isn't my fault, and I think throwing accusations my way is pretty outrageous.

well, to be fair, you're absolutely right. Chris asked for comments and you offered them.

However, my skepticism remains. Most of the regular posters here do, in fact, have working websites with compliant 2257 statements. Numerous people have posted (in this thread and in ones some months ago) to say that MWE appears to be a scam.

So when someone pops up that no one's heard of before and offers a glowing account on a company everyone else has called shady or worse, yes, I'm going to do some due diligence before changing my opinion based on the info I've previously received.

I don't have any agenda, and I'd love to be proven wrong. But I find it interesting that as soon as I asked MWE for names of a few studios he was working with that I could ask for references, he stopped responding and in spite of several follow-up emails from me, he still hasn't responded. The same thing happened the last time he contacted me when I asked for sample mailings he'd done and specifics of how customers placed orders since he has no website and no phone number.

As I said in my earlier thread, I'm not saying your company isn't legitimate, only that the combination of MWE's claims (the company isn't even *real* for chrissakes, according to the Florida business filing records I checked), the proximity of their claimed office to your location, and the issues that I raised in the earlier email combine to make a situation that, at first glance, sounds a little too convenient. If I'm wrong, I'll be happy to admit so. I'd just like to see more evidence of legitimacy on the part of MWE.

Oh, and btw... no jealousy. Several of our DVD titles have been nominated for GayVN awards, all of our 21 titles sell quite well at retail through our distributor, and we sell substantially more through them than MWE could ever take, which is, I'm sure, why MWE wanted our titles, precisely because they would sell. And they apparently wanted our titles enough that after they stopped pestering me the first time, they pestered me two other times.

I can't believe I am actually waisting my time on this, but it has come to my attention from people that I DO buy dvds from that a few people on this board are talking shit about MWE Interactive.

I wont post on this board after this, there is no point in doing so. This whole topic is absolutely ridiculous and I have a feeling I know how these boards work. Some people will trash you even when you present all the evidence in the world to prove other wise.

I dont sell anything to our email customers until the content is reviewed(NO EXCEPTIONS). If you dont like it then that is your problem. I USE to review material online only to find out that more than half of you that SAY you have box covers dont. To be honest with you I use to turn down more product when I reviewed on line because with much of the stuff it looked like shit. I was advised by some adult webmasters that footage can look off when viewed online, hence that is why we requested dvd screeners.

Secondly, many of you have terrible eta track records. Yes I find out from others how well you handle orders. I am NOT about to prepay for 800, 1000, 2000 units to a company with "average" quality footage and a bad eta track records. Also, if you send screeners and they show up at our location packed like shit, they how do you think I am going to view your company? Do you think I will then order 2000 units from you. If you can't pack 10 units and send them without boxes being half open, chips in the box cover, etc. then how the fuck can I trust you to ship out thousands of titles properly??? Show a little respect for your product, and believe me, your buyers(or potential ones) will show some respect to you!

3rd, DONT TALK ABOUT HOW YOU HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH US IF YOU HAVE NOT. When we move forward and make a pre paid order for "x" amount of units, WE DONT PAY FOR THAT ORDER VIA CREDIT CARD, NEVE HAVE NEVER WILL. I wont get any more specific then that. Those who are spreading these falsehoods know what I am talking about and I challenge them to step up and prove me wrong(lets see who has the balls to try and prove to everyone that we paid for product via a credit card).

4th, many of you are full of shit how many units you have in stock and how fast you are able to get "X" amount of units in stock for it to be ready to ship out. I wont get into specifics on how I am able to find out such information, it wouldn't be to my benefit to do so, but such things are easy to find out so if you try to do business with us and bull shit on how much product you have, when you can have it ready to ship out, etc, then you will find that you wont get a response from me EVER.

So lets recap shall we.

*DONT send me screeners if they are not in finished form.

*US reviewing your material on dvds instead of online is for YOUR BENEFIT, certainly not ours(most of your stuff looks better on dvd than online).

*Third, if you dont have your shit together as far as inventory, shipping, etc, dont think we can't find out. If you can't handle the volume we would LIKE to buy your stuff at, dont act like you can handle that volume. No sense sending me a price list based on volume if you can't handle the orders in a reasonable amount of time.

*Some of you have bad eta records, I dont care how good your stuff is I wont buy anything if you have bad eta records.

*DONT talk about how you have done business with us if you haven't. You might end up having to prove you have and when you cant, then you will be up shits creek.


We sell to email customers, they are the pickiest customers out there. I am not about to cut any corners or do any favours for anyone just so that they can get a few units sold. If I dont come up with what my customers want, or if we dont get them product in a reasonable amount of time they cut us(MWE) out as a supplier(aka opt out of our email list). I am not about to take that risk unless I am 100% POSITIVE that you are a company we can do business with. Doesn't matter to me if you are a big company or small, if you have your shit together, and your product is good, then we can do some business.

Dont bother responding to me about this, I will not post on here again, I came to give all of you who try to spread bullshit about us the 411.

No offence but im more inclined to beleive those people who have been around a lot longer than a couple of days and have made more than 1 single post on this topic than the person who newly registers defending their actions.

(There is an MWE, but it was dissolved by the state for non-filing of records 13 years ago.)

Even funnier that Jamie's post offered absolutely no commentary whatsoever to the claims raised, except to deny that they pay with credit cards.

Bottom line: If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

What would be fun: I know that among the thousands of customers that we and Pornteam and Allboy and YMAC all sell to, we all know at least a dozen or so of the same customers... and I bet if I asked Citiboyz or WeHo or any of the other DVD retailers here, they probably also sell to at least some of the same dozen customers as well. In other words, these are customers who buy a lot of porn and buy from everyone.

It would be very interesting for each of us to start asking some of our regular customers if they've ever heard of a company called MWE or Myracomm as a retailer of porn. I'll be a cup of coffee that none of our regular "constant buyer" customers have ever heard of this company.

Somebody really needs to find him and nail him. He's obviously a dumbass, he knows he's been "outed" on this board, but still emails people without bothering to see if they read or post to this board.

I can't believe this guy! As I wrote before in another thread regarding this subject, we have been in business now for 5 years and he has contacted us at least 3X in the past 5 years and I guess he emails everyone else including studios and distributors.

We are also located in South Florida and when I got his email, I was very excited...since I was new in the business and I didn't now much about distribution back then...I thought "wow! what a great opportunity" however when I asked this Jaime person questions about viewing a site, getting on his email list or viewing a sample of his list or somekind of catalog he couldn't provide me with this information. Then I asked him if I can visit him at his office and he never got back to me or invited me to his office. I wanted to visit him and I asked him these specific questions due to the fact we never heard of the company before. If he was a company like Marina Pacific, Channel 1 releasing, or anyother major company...I wouldn't have asked him such questions...but when you get an email from a company that wants to purchase 500, 1000, 1500 or more units from you and you never heard of this company, then you ask questions.

If this was a true ligitimate business offer, he would have invited me to his office, showed me his operation and supplied me with somekind of catalog or website information. I new that we had all the artwork, our films were quality and our artwork is quality, we didn't even have to ship any product so he would have recieved everything in perfect condition! We also knew that having a company purchase 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 or more units of one title is something that to my experience is unheard of unless your a major company. We did check his business out, he is regristered in the State of Florida but that doesn't mean anything.

After many years of being in the biz, and speaking with other studios and reading the boards...its seems that many of us who are now established agree that this company and person is not on the up and up and to be careful with this company and person.

They hit me up in 2005 promising that they could buy my videos in bulk orders of 3500 copies...something told me to really press these guys for what exactly they were wanting to do and it just didn't smell right.

I am so glad that I followed my instincts and not sent them any of my masters. They would have stole them and I would have really been screwed.

Who knows how many people got screwed over by these guys. Damn Scammers.

That Jamie guy never seems to stop. I will tell you asking alerting the producers that we work with, we have found he makes round every couple of months and has been using different emails addtress, phone number etc.

I just posted about this thread over at GayMainStreet, and I would suggest that anyone who regularly posts on another board also post about it.

This guy is clearly a piece of shit, and until somebody can get the authorities interested, the best we can do is let everyone on the planet know about him through the boards.
