Im not so sure, how anyone can celebrate death, even someones as hatefull as Falwell is beyond comprehension to me $0.02
Regards,
Lee
OH come on Lee!! PLease....... Falwell would dance on your grave and did dance on my dead lovers and thousands on our dead friend and comrades graves by saying that AIDS was Gods wrath on Gay people.
Thats like saying to a Jewish person that it to bad that Hitler is dead.
on Sept 14, 2001, Jerry Falwell blamed lesbians and gay people for the attack on Sept. 11.
Not somebody I will hold dear to my heart - he and Jesse Helmes can now have tea parties in hell as far as I'm concerned....
I'm always sad to hear when anybody dies. I don't jump up and down for joy to hear that Falwell has passed. I'm sure somebody loved him very much. I can't even say he was a vile man, because I didn't know him personally. I didn't agree with any of his politics or especially his views on gays and lesbians, but in the end, I try not to judge those who judge me. Still, I can't say that I'm particularly heartbroken over the news of his passing.
please someone, get me another cup of coffee - I can't believe what I'm reading...!
back these guys up with some strings (violins perhaps and harps too)
let us shut the country down for the next week while we give him a national day of mourning....
oh my god! Please! time to turn your gay cards in guys or are you gay republicans...!
well I'll be the one to say I'm not exactly glad he's dead... I'm just glad that we won't have to listen to him again.
Jerry Falwell was evil to the core, and happily so.
Not that it makes a difference... there's a million demons waiting to fill his hooves.
I'm glad he's dead. There are a few others that I am hoping follow in his footsteps to hell.
I'm with Cam on this one.
Time to PARTY. Too bad it didn't happen sooner...or to Bush.
Breaking News From Hell...
FUCK HIM
Lee
Good Riddance
JF was so full of hate and did everything he could to make us suffer as a community. He demonized innocent people for years to his benefit. He turned families against their Gay loved ones so his "flock" would be united against homosexuality. I don't hate JF, but I'm sure glad he's dead as he no longer suffers, and we as a community will no longer suffer by his deeds.
No doubt another will follow in his place, and he's already bred others like him, but DING DONG THE BITCH IS DEAD :bunny:
No one said anything about giving him a national day of mourning. But one of the traits of TRUE Christianity (something Falwell himself seemed to not understand) was simply having compassion for your fellow human beings. Far too many of us are filled with hate, and to me, that's nothing but negative energy. People who hold on to negative energy and who celebrate the death of another human being, no matter how non-compassionate that person was toward them... well, it says something about their character. I don't hold grudges. At least Falwell lived by his own principals, and fought for them. That's something to be respected in and of itself.
ACTION ALERT SF BAY AREA:
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc. will hold a rally at 5:15 on 5/15. Back in the 1980's Falwell's fundraising TV shows ran video loops of SF Gay Pride in the background as he pleaded for donations. The video was a 10 second clip of one of the Sisters in the parade waving a black dildo. Apparently, that video clip was his strongest fundraising tool, as he ran it over and over for hours every Sunday.
This just in from the Sister email list:
There is another large group rallying at 5pm at 18th & Castro. I am still intending to bring an installation to the site. This installation and what we bring will allow us to accomplish two things:
1) To let go of our collective & individual pain and suffering that has been caused by the life and lies of this person.
2) To replace all that we have let go of with love, light, compassion, understanding, and the joy of who we are! This is the what we will manifest on the installation at 18th & Castro.
THEN at 8PM (after the sun goes down and some of us can go home to paint a face...or not)
Sister Kitty Catylyst OCP will provide the flames for Hell Dance at 18th & Castro.
(cuz if it's hell we're headed for, we'd better start laying claim to the dance parties)
This sounds cleansing actually. That's what I love about the Sisters. They are all about harmony with the collective "we." Falwell's soul will hopefully now be at rest -- or in the afterlife, hopefully he's learning the truth that many of us who are enlightened already know. ;)
I'll remember that when I run into Hitler - now sit back and laugh - if you can

I love it. on the 11PM news. One of the 4 things that they listed as his accomplishments was outing Tinky Winky!!
His whole life and it comes to Tinky Winky in the end.
I heard he had been taken to the hospital, but I've just now learned he died
Id love to spit on his grave!

Dead Falwell:
"....Part and parcel of that was to toss red meat to the faithful, telling them who to hate, who to spurn, who to despise, all couched in terms of trying to "change hearts" and get them to accept his Christ. Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, gays, liberals of any faith, illegal immigrants, anyone who didn't fit into his version of Christianity (which meant "people who give money to Jerry Falwell") were merely more bits of coal for Lucifer's fires. Motherfucker said, flat out, that Anne Frank, Gandhi, Muhammed, and Buddha were in hell. He pretty much started the culture wars, against anyone who supported abortion, feminism, or funding for AIDS research, looked at pornography, made art that he deemed wrong. Yes, there were preachers before Falwell who goddamned masses of people, but Falwell did it with a bigger microphone and satellites and cable TV, and with that voice, and that smile, that attitude of rationality, as if anyone who didn't feel the same way he did must be a fool. His fetid rhetoric made intolerance and hate seem like moral stances...."

Agreed. Pat Robertson needs to go next. LOL.
Lets pray on it!
If all of those fuckers are so close to God I would LOVE to see them all with him right now...so they can stop fucking with us.
Evil fucks!
Lee
Can't wait to hear how Pat Robertson spins this one!
Katrina was gawd's punishment of New Orleans, he'd even comment on famous people's deaths and why "gawd killed them for their wicked lifestyle."
So, guess "GAWD" found out something about Falwell that only Robertson knows about.
When oh when is he going to share why GAWD killed Falwell!?!?

LYNCHBURG, VA -- While friends, family, colleagues, and sympathizers of the now late and by some lamented Rev. Jerry Falwell gather for solemn remembrances of the man who founded Liberty University and put Lynchburg, VA on the political map, others celebrate the death of a man that some have called a member of the American Taliban. Ironically, one of the chief contenders for the Far Right media spotlight plans to disrupt his funeral with a religious protest.
The Full story here
In the end, we'll probably hear some rumor or claims that he had a secret gay lover on the side or something. Seems like the biggest critics and contenders against gays and our rights are the ones sucking dick under a desk themselves *shrugs*
I'm sure in his eyes and many others he was a messiah sent from heaven, but his deeds caused pain and anguish to people in his own country. Must be interesting to have a god that actually believes in revenge...
Fred Phelps {The God Hates Fags guy} << is 78 he needs to depart next ~
Thats a disturbed person!
I don't ever say that anyone should die. But can I say I'm sad he's dead? No. This just means that there is one less asshole in the world that I will have to deal with.
Daniel Johnson has a great song called Casper the Friendly Ghost, and it's all about this guy named Casper who was a bum, everyone dumped on him and hated him, but when he died he became "the friendly ghost" and everyone sang his praises and loved him because you're supposed to respect the dead. The point is that just because someone dies it doesn't change the person that he was. Jerry Falwell was a total bastard. Anyone who exploits people's religious beliefs to further a political agenda or make money should rot. It's like raping the soul. Of course, the people who buy into it are also sheep who should know better. But that's beside the point. He hurt a lot of people and I'm glad he's not around to hurt anymore.
Does that meant I wished him dead? No. Does it mean I wanted him to suffer? No. Am I glad he's no longer around to spread his message of hate? Yes. I don't see anything morally wrong with that.
I want to know who's going to play uncle jerry in the upcoming made for tv movie THE JERRY FALWELL STORY.... rumor has it that Tinky Winky plays a bit roll - maybe yours truly could play the devil - that would be fun...! I'll have to call my agent - excuse me please....
Josh Lucas would play me, the part of the secret Gay lover that, in a heated argument over who would use the private jet that night, tasers him on the chest causing his heart to stop :hipster:
