never had that happen in the 6 years we have been with them. but now it is EFTed to us.

Can you say why it was returned?
There are many reasons a bank will dishonor a check -- the Scarlet Letters "NSF" are the bad ones -- when there is not enough money in the account to pay the check. There are other reasons though that are not the fault of the payor, such as mis-matching by the processing bank or scanner failures. When I was working at a real estate company, the checks written were all prepared online and then printed at our location so the data was available at the bank. When John Customer came in with check # 456788, the teller at the bank would run it through the check reader and input the amount of the check. The system already knew that check # 456788 was written for $12,000 and if the teller put in $12001 the system would reject the check. It is a sophisticated fraud reduction system but will result in some false rejections due to human error.
Do you know why your check was dishonored? Ya don't want to say AEBN is out of money when it was some other reason entirely that the check did not clear your account.

Since you spelled "check" the wrong way, me thinks you are not USofA and International exchange is iffy at best.
I think you should have worked through the situation before posting.
AEBN is an awesome company, all cash and no BS, unlike several other wannabees.
Clearing checks internationally is a PAIN IN THE ASS. It takes my bank at least 3 weeks plus they charge me $35 to deposit a euro-denominated EU check. They treat it like it was forged -- they even put it into a little envelope all by itself and send it off to some special place where I am convinced spells are cast and fingerprints are dusted to ensure the validity of a bank check drawn on the Royal Bank of Scotland.Quote:

actually i spelled cheque correctly. i can't help that americans can't speak or write the Queen's English to save their lives.
and aebn does seem to be dealing with it BUT i think i had every right to post before the issue was resolved. i didn't bad mouth aebn. i just stated a fact and asked if the situation had arisen for anyone else. why should i sit alone in the dark?
to me this is what boards are for. to find out if anyone else is having the same problem.

I agree 100%. That is EXACTLY what these boards are for. No one badmouthed AEBN...and they have the same opportunity to respond as he did to post. A little over a year ago I also had a check come back to me "bounced" from a major 'player' (Not AEBN). My bank had submitted it twice, and then returned it to me. I contacted my rep, they told me there was "no way that could happen", so I re-deposited it to my bank. It cleared right away on the third time.Quote:

But you are right...the boards are the perfect place to post something like this. What if all of a sudden 400 other people said "my check bounced too!"...then you would know you were FUCKED....

don't think the post was going to far.. a bounced cheque is a bounced cheque.. it's to bad AEBN had issues with their reps..
Hi Guys we have been working on the issue and I have been in back and forth contact with the Richard in regards to his check problem. We have come close to reaching a solution.
As far as the rep is concerned, that rep was contacted but he was on a plane to go to a show. He actually did pass the email that he received from Richard yesterday once he was settled in and able to get to his computer.
So everything is taken care of. Thank you everyone for your concern.

cam, when a check bounced to us from a large sponsor a couple years ago, the first thing i did was ask on the boards whether it happened to anyone else. no, i wasn't trying to badmouth them. i was trying to see if there was a larger issue or if the problem was only with my check. it gave me a better frame of reference of what to tell our rep.
