My last AEBN cheque bounced. :(
First time I've had this happen to me.
Did their cheques bounce for anyone else?
never had that happen in the 6 years we have been with them. but now it is EFTed to us.
Oh great.
I have a rather large AEBN check sitting on my desk!
Im going to pay it in this morning and pray :D
Can you say why it was returned?
There are many reasons a bank will dishonor a check -- the Scarlet Letters "NSF" are the bad ones -- when there is not enough money in the account to pay the check. There are other reasons though that are not the fault of the payor, such as mis-matching by the processing bank or scanner failures. When I was working at a real estate company, the checks written were all prepared online and then printed at our location so the data was available at the bank. When John Customer came in with check # 456788, the teller at the bank would run it through the check reader and input the amount of the check. The system already knew that check # 456788 was written for $12,000 and if the teller put in $12001 the system would reject the check. It is a sophisticated fraud reduction system but will result in some false rejections due to human error.
Do you know why your check was dishonored? Ya don't want to say AEBN is out of money when it was some other reason entirely that the check did not clear your account.
Yep my bank called this morning as well:scissors:
I have been getting my wire transfers on time, no problems. AEBN is huge, this is probably just a small mistake.
Hi Richard,
I am looking into accounting on this issue now. I need to ask though, do you have your affiliate account number and have you contacted your representative in regards to this issue?
Thank you
Which is your account? or Website that you work with so I can get this taken care of a little more quickly. It could be your rep is out of the office today by chance.
Thanks
Chris
Since you spelled "check" the wrong way, me thinks you are not USofA and International exchange is iffy at best.
I think you should have worked through the situation before posting.
AEBN is an awesome company, all cash and no BS, unlike several other wannabees.
Clearing checks internationally is a PAIN IN THE ASS. It takes my bank at least 3 weeks plus they charge me $35 to deposit a euro-denominated EU check. They treat it like it was forged -- they even put it into a little envelope all by itself and send it off to some special place where I am convinced spells are cast and fingerprints are dusted to ensure the validity of a bank check drawn on the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Just to be the Devil's Advocate [and as a porn lawyer I have really earned THAT title] his spelling of cheque is not wrong -- just different than US English. The Brits think we spell it wrong in America :-) plus they think we say "aluminum" wrong [they say al - you - min -ee -um when we say ah- loom- in- um ]
Not wrong, just different.
actually i spelled cheque correctly. i can't help that americans can't speak or write the Queen's English to save their lives.
and aebn does seem to be dealing with it BUT i think i had every right to post before the issue was resolved. i didn't bad mouth aebn. i just stated a fact and asked if the situation had arisen for anyone else. why should i sit alone in the dark?
to me this is what boards are for. to find out if anyone else is having the same problem.
my old company always spoke very highly of AEBN, I plan to send them my titles to distribute as they begin to role out next month. The fact that Chris is addressing it so quickly seemed to bode well, good luck !
For the record, being english and having the "cheque" spelt as so here, i like the US version better :D Its easier to type and, i use it more.
I agree 100%. That is EXACTLY what these boards are for. No one badmouthed AEBN...and they have the same opportunity to respond as he did to post. A little over a year ago I also had a check come back to me "bounced" from a major 'player' (Not AEBN). My bank had submitted it twice, and then returned it to me. I contacted my rep, they told me there was "no way that could happen", so I re-deposited it to my bank. It cleared right away on the third time.
My mom works in a bank, and stuff just happens all the time. I doubt that everyone elses AEBN check would clear and yours would bounce...so I am guessing that it is a glitch or error somewhere in the system.
But you are right...the boards are the perfect place to post something like this. What if all of a sudden 400 other people said "my check bounced too!"...then you would know you were FUCKED....
But in this case...it looks like it is an error.
God Save the Queen...and her dogs.
:whip:
Well I could not disagree more with this statement.
A blanket statement like that one in the beginning of this tread is the kind of thing that starts a RUN ON THE BANK.
It sound like he did not get in touch with AEBN first to resolve this , or at least did not wait to get a response before posting.
How many calls and e mails from worried people do you think AEBN got from this post?
Sure if you get a run around or something, but to send up RED flags before trying to work it out privately first... Well thats just not right.
Sorry guys , but this was SHOCK VALUE.
I guess I read his post wrong...although going back and re-reading I am still a little confused. I thought he contacted them but did not hear back at all.
Cam, I see your point too, and since I don't know Richard, I don't know if it was shock value, or if he was just making a post to see if anyone else was effected.
Point taken.
Damn power bottoms always trying to set things straight! :scared:
don't think the post was going to far.. a bounced cheque is a bounced cheque.. it's to bad AEBN had issues with their reps..
Hi Guys we have been working on the issue and I have been in back and forth contact with the Richard in regards to his check problem. We have come close to reaching a solution.
As far as the rep is concerned, that rep was contacted but he was on a plane to go to a show. He actually did pass the email that he received from Richard yesterday once he was settled in and able to get to his computer.
So everything is taken care of. Thank you everyone for your concern.
Chris
This could have nothing to do with AEBN's cheque. It looks like a bank error. Ether his or there's
Did you think of that.??
And as to ABEN's reps.. they are in a much different time zone as you guys. You need to give them time to get back to you.
AEBN has always been the best paying outfit out there. They deserved a benafit of a doubt before this post.
Thats all I am saying.
I agree on your this issue, however I have had different experiences with different banks. Some banks buy them with the notice that they will dip into my account in case the check bounces. Others, send it for collection with 3-8 weeks of wait.
Guess which bank I'm doing business with now ;)
cam, when a check bounced to us from a large sponsor a couple years ago, the first thing i did was ask on the boards whether it happened to anyone else. no, i wasn't trying to badmouth them. i was trying to see if there was a larger issue or if the problem was only with my check. it gave me a better frame of reference of what to tell our rep.
Well maybe I am old school, but when it comes to money between parties you should always try to see if this was some kind of mistake first before posting it to a public board.
Whether you meant to or not you make the one that wrote the check look bad PUBLICLY.
This is something people in real business do to one another.
IM other privately is one thing, but this is a public place!! Some of you seem to forget that.
Sorry, This is something that I can not agree with you on here.
Yikes.
There's never a good time to eat crow! :embarassed:
It looks like it was a problem at my end for which I apologize to AEBN!
Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.
