Looking for imput on what dating site you're using for upsells that seem to be converting well for you.
DatingGold or Fling are really the only options right now that i have used and to be honest, im not to impressed with either of them conversion wise $0.02

I'm always completely amazed that there are such things as dating sites for the gay market. I just don't see a huge demand for it. Cruising sites always seem to me like a much more productive alternative.
That reminds me, i tried out ManJam a while back and they did even worse than Fling or DatingGold did.
If anyone knows of a good cruising site with an affiliate program attached id love to know about it but so far, ManJam is the closest ive been able to find.
Regards,
Lee
*sigh* if only manhunt had an affiliate program!
Dont use socialplus.com they ran ours for years and owe me a shit load of $$s, so I'm in the process of changing things over to a new service and looking....
Anyone play with DateApp?
I second that one.
For what it's worth...I met my boyfriend on Men4SexNow. Or was it Recon? I can't even really remember. I know we each had profiles on both sites.
At any rate...to return to the topic at hand, I've been an affiliate for ManJam for a little while now. I've got a banner up and a link in the side bar...and had no results. But then, I haven't really pushed it.
I think DList looks promising, but it isn't clear to me if they have an affiliate program.
Not to toot my own horn, but if you want to get in on the ground floor, I have a free dating section in MuscleBearCub.com and an affiliate program to sell memberships to the VIP Room. It's still a new site, but the personals are starting to catch on.
If you're choosing sites to promote, sometimes the big, established sites are already to overexposed. You might consider promoting fresh new site.
End of spam.
A suggestion if you have the time, create your own.
off the shelf scripts for a good one is $400 - banner ads make it more than worth while if you point your traffic to it for free join.
Any site that asks if you have or want to have children is a dating site. Sites that ask for cock size are cruise sites (hook-up sites actually) Manhunt is probably the biggest hook-up site, but there are niche sites as well. Big Muscle is probably one of the most successful niche sites.
BTW...welcome J from AlwaysGayAlways....good to see you here!
Hey Guys, thought I'd hop in on this thread as it's quite interesting to hear all your views on the topic.
By working in the "dating/cruising/personals" space, I've come across many sites that use these terms differently.
For example, there are sites that promote "cruising" as an offline activity that involves public space such as mall bathrooms and public parks. I cannot wrap my head around that concept as I think of all the potential legal issues that might arise from posting public locations as a meeting ground for horny gay men to fool around in.
For myself and the product I work on, cruising is a bit different. It's more cruising profiles for______ (fill in the blanks). We have an undeniable adult theme throughout the site but quite a few members actually join up for the sense of community and the ability to connect on various levels with other members. And the few emails I do get about guys meeting their boyfriend/ life partner is actually a nice surprise as again it is very adult oriented! But without a doubt, most men who sign up are for the most part looking to meet up with other guys, go into videochat and make/ watch amateur vids (who can blame them!)
Try telling some of my members that! lol But for the most part that statement is correct :)
Yes true, from my own experience most gay guys aren't thinking about settling down too fast but then again thats just my experience ;)
There is always the exception to the rule, however.
I don't think it's fair to say that guys who visit 'cruising' sites are only looking for sex.
I believe it really depends on the geographical area.
In the community I live in...you pretty much HAVE to visit every type of site to find guys.
If I'd only stuck to 'dating' sites like Yahoo! Personals or Out Personals, I'd have had a pool of about 10 guys to meet. I had no choice but to branch out and meet guys through all sorts of sites, including 'cruising' sites.
I already had a sense that "cruising" meant hooking up for sex and not really looking for long term relationships, Jim! LOL
Now to me, gcruise looks like live cam sex sites - but it's between members and not just a handful of guys available for putting on a show for anyone who pays for a private room scenario.
Even though it says dating site on gcash - I wouldn't have stuck it just under that sort of affiliate program description, but live cam sex as well. So is a site that has webcam rooms for members that isn't a pay per minute show scenario considered a cruising site?
Hi Bec, thanks for those great questions :)
A site like GC can be looked at from a member's point of view and that of an affiliate.
The videochat component of our site certainly draws in members who have the "log on, get off" expectation, but it's really a mix of Adult & PG. One never knows what will happen, because as you said they are members and not a handful of guys putting on a per minute show.
Guys will go on videochat for a variety of reasons ranging from simply chatting up locals and "seeing what they're going to get" before they commit to an offline meet, to full blown jerk off sessions. So checking out member profiles, meeting guys in videochat can all be considered "cruising" in the online sense which is very similar to its offline counterpart.
But your point on the program description, I completely agree. I'm working on the program to include these important things. Post-Pride activities have kept me busy, but its all finally over *sigh*
