CCBill, Are you having payment problems???

Every week we receive paper checks from CCBill. We haven't received a check in 13 days now. We called CCBill to find out what the problems were.

One day they were telling us their accountant was out sick. The next day they're telling us that there were wild fires in Phoenix Arizona so the post offices were shut down.

Yesterday a guy named Branson tells us that it's not just us but other webmasters were not receiving their checks and this is a world-wide situation that something's going on with the post office not delivering the checks that all their checks were mailed on May 5th.

Today I called CCBill to find out what's going on, they said that there's a weather disaster near Phoenix, AZ that's causing all of the webmasters in the eastern part of the USA to not receive their checks.

This isn't like a $100 or $200 check out floating. It's a $500+ check. We are teamed up with Hot Desert Knights, DudeLodge, Triangle Dream. We pay them a percentage of the memberships once checks are received. So this is quite a problem.

Also, JJ (the owner of Sebastian's Studios) emails them this morning before I called, and got this response:

I do apologize for the inconvienence. To give you a brief explanation of the issue. First, the processing from our end was on time, we mailed the checks out from our end on time.

What we have been told is due to the rebate checks going out and the severe weather that hit part of the US that may be why the checks are delayed. If you would like, you do have a option to do a stop payment on the check for a 20.00 dollar fee once that is done the amount of the check minus the 20.00 dollars will be reconciled back into your account.

Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just us?

Yeah our check is due about 7 days or so and many webmasters on other boeards are complaining, too. Not sure whats going on there....

I'm not trying to cause any problems or anything against CCBill. They are a wonderful processor. :joker:

On Monday I received a CCBill check about 1/2 week late.

See, we have problems with our mail carrier that delivers our mail. We first thought perhaps it was this. But then when CCBill said it was a nationwide issue, then I wanted to approach the forum.

Our checks were three days late last week, but the checks this week arrived today just as they always do, so things seem back to normal.

My ccbill checks were also late. I called them and they said they were sent but blamed it on mothers day and the stimulus checks. I did finally get my checks yesterday. About four days later then normal.

I have talked to many about this situation and am glad to hear they are starting to arrive.

We are unsure of the exact reason that last weeks checks were late for some webmasters, mainly East of the Mississippi. We sent the checks out as normal so we can only assume this was an error caused by the USPS.

If you haven't thought about it yet, I would certainly recommend FedEx delivery or wire transfers, sure these cost more but they are guaranteed and trackable. To offset the cost you can even place a minimum payout amount on your account or set them to be delivered every few weeks or so instead of every week.

Still no ccbill check, not even one from this past week. There is now over $600.00 floating around in paper.

We did sign-up for the wire. Unfortunately, we pay you $15.00 and 6% to our bank for the amount of the wire. This sucks, but oh well.

I also placed a telphone call today to the Consumer Advocate's office in Washington, DC questioning about this. They informed us that there have been no complaints or questions regarding the delivery of any mail.

I also made a call today to client support and they said one of the accountants has been out sick which is why there has been a delay. JJ called them later not knowing that I made a call and questioned about it and the Client Support rep said there have been severe weather conditions sweeping throughout the southeastern states for the past couple weeks.
This was informed to us last Friday. Since we've been looking at weatherchannel.com and it shows no severe weather other than a thunderstorm that lasted an hour and 20 mins.

As you see, everytime we call or speak to CCBill Client Support the answers change.

The running around is what bothers us. If something happened the checks have been later, tell us. We can understand that more than being given a run around every time we question.

See.... we payout other studios a percentage of the net payout on our memberships. Plus of course CCBill pays the affiliates. When we don't receive a check, it's also holding back our producers for example Hot Desert Knights is one of our biggest producers. We can't pay them until we're paid. This is why this is such a big deal to us.

if you live in the usa you can have ccbill ACH your money each time directly into your bank account, faster and ach rarely gets "lost int he mail"

As far as I know, CCBill does not offer ACH, only wire transfers.

humm i get payment into my account from ccbill and i dont see a wire charge that i normally see from my bank when a wire comes in.

OK, I read all Ur posts and I really need add my 3 cents.

I run my business in Europe. That means I have to wait about TEN days to receive the cheque. Then pay a fee to cash it, and then wait another TEN WORKING days to have the money available. Ten "working days" is usually two weeks if there are no holidays. So, as U see, it happens quite often, that I have my money available one MONTH after cheque was sent.

So, as U see 3 days delay is still not such a problem, guys!

Do I have alternative? Well, yes of course. CCBill can wire the money. But since my bank is here in Europe (although it originates from US) I have to pay USD 30.00 for the wire!!! It was always hard to understand: The international wires in my bank are free of charge if U do it on-line. All domestic wires and payments are also free of charge. All my European clients (I'm a primary producer) have the wire transfers free of charge. So why does it cost so much in US? Can't U open an account in European bank and make the EU wires cheaper?

And why CCBill can't use PayPal or ePassporte? I'm sure it would also be cheaper and more convenient to many of us.

I think if they were smart, paying by ACH would probably be best. They would save so much on postage. :wtf:

I've never been able to get a straight answer out of CCBill (or Epoch) as to why they won't do ACH. I've heard all sorts of bogus reasons, though. Several of the off-brand billers do offer ACH at little to no cost, so there's no regulatory reason why it could not be done.

My suspicion is that by sending checks, CCBill and Epoch play the float between the time the money is actually due and when the checks clear, and, given the enormous amounts of money involved, that adds up to a significant amount of interest, even at 2 or 3% APR for a couple of days, for CCBill.

I know that we (Gaybucks) don't pay for outbound domestic wires from our Bank of America account, and so, given than CCBill also banks with BofA and does a bazillion times the volume we do, they probably don't either, so the $15 or $25 or whatever it is they charge for wires probably offsets the value of the interest they lose. Because everyone knows that ACH transactions cost little to nothing to process, my guess is that they know they can't get away with charging $15 for an ACH payment, so by simply not offering it, they keep the interest, and if someone wants to pay for a wire, they effectively pay the value of the lost interest.

I even suggested once that CCBill offer an intrabank transfer option for their customers who also bank with BofA (since BofA makes this available and it's totally free, easy to track and implement, and is virtually foolproof) but of course that went nowhere as well. That further led me to the belief that it's a revenue center for CCBill... which, honestly, I have no objection to; I just wish they'd either own up to it, provide a plausible reason why they don't do ACH, or start offering either ACH or intrabank transfers.

Perhaps someone from CCBill will read this, think about the thoughts you threw out on here, then mention it to someone and perhaps whether it's now or in the future they will consider it.

I've got accounts in three different banks here and I can do everything on-line. The only reason I visit the bank these days are CCBill cheques.

So, write a petition to CCBill and I'm first to sign it!

Maybe you can initiate it? Then we can work on getting it out there. Just a thought. :toff:

I can answer part of that, Bregot, regarding the wire transfer fees. There's a fee from the outgoing bank to the sender when international transfers are made - that's the 30usd up front that you're being charged. The percentage, I'm assuming comes from the receiving (your) bank, for processing/exchanging the incoming transfer. Each bank has different policies on this regarding price. Our outbound transfers cost 25USD, and I've heard of differing over-seas banks charging anywhere from 5-30 dollars from the payment.

I'm not sure is CCbill or anyone has an option to raise your minimum payout, but that would be a short-term solution, and is what we recommend/provide to our overseas affiliates and producers. That way paying 30-50USD out of 500-1000USD isn't nearly as bad as the same amount out of 100-200USD

because thats how they have decided to run their business.
you can certainly take your business elsewhere if its such a problem for you but expecting companies to change policies simply because thats what YOU want, ain't gonna happen.
