Do You Hookup?

I just got off the phone with a friend of ours who said he wasnt having any luck with sites like Adam4Adam meeting with guys just to 'fuck' (as he put it lol) and we got in to a whole long conversation about how its more about the profile you are using, the text or pic you use, the type of guys you look for etc, etc.

He still didnt seem to understand what i was talking about though.

That got me wondering, do you think it is more to do with the profile text/pic of the type of site guys post on as to whether they actually will be able to hookup or not?

Gary and I have had some good experiences using A4A and also ManHunt but this friend i was speaking to said he had a lot more luck posting on the M4M section of Craigslist than on sites specifically designed with hooking up in mind.

What have your experiences been when it comes to finding a guy to hookup with, have you had more luck on hookup sites like A4A, non specific sites like Craigslist or, meeting guys in bars and clubs?

As i say we have met a couple of hot guys off A4A but never really tried the Craigslit route specifically so was just curious to see what others experiences were.

I would hate to have to tell your friend this, but it's probably just him.

I have never had a problem hooking up on any website that exists for that sole reason.

I have, however, encountered some fakers. That is why I always hosted -- nothing was lost if they never showed up.

I've been in a committed relationship now for two years and things may have changed on those sites. Although I doubt it.

Your friend should just become a porn producer, recruit on those sites, and win twice.

Craigslist m4m scares me. Big time. It seems so dirty. Perhaps because I am into faces more than any other part of the body and Craigslist has none.

both the gay and straight craigslist hook-up opportunities are good for one thing: laughs
every one of those has been so disturbing it's hilarious, like one I saw that mentioned the extra meat they had in their freezer that a "guest" could take home with them as an incentive, lol

The first thing that came to my mind when I read that was Jeffrey Dahmer.

Free meat = recession hookup.

A jobless mother of five might take someone up on that offer.

I have seen quite a few where they talk about how they need to make extra money for their kids.

I'm sorry, but if I were a straight guy, I could not get down after knowing that in advance. If they need it for that, cool, but I do not need to know that.

The sites change but the results are the same, and I believe the right profile and pictures make the difference.

I remember Gay.com being _the_ site to use. Then Men4SexNow, and along came ManHunt and Adam4Adam.

Life was so much easier when we had AOL m4m chat rooms.

Apparently iPhone now has some kind of app similar to loopt that shows you were other gay people are around you.

I was thinking more along a play on words or a tasteless pun derived from Hunt for Red October, but that works too, lol

I must be the only gay man in the world who has never "hooked up" with someone online. I've always been too worried about a guy showing up on my doorstep and looking nothing like his pic and then having to turn him away and risk him getting pissed off and doing something violent. If I really want to just get off with someone I'll go to a bathhouse or pick-up bar. I'd much rather see the merchandise up front and go for it there.

For you guys that do online hook-ups, what happened when the guy was not who he claimed to be?

I used to have that fear, too. Then, when it happened to me for the first time, I realized that it is THEIR fault for using misleading photos of themselves.

Like the guy using pictures that are 11 years old.

Trust me, people like that know what they are doing.

As for the violence thing, that can happen anywhere.

I've hooked up more from online than in real life -- at least, wait, I shouldn't go there. A LOT.

In fact, my boyfriend and I met through Facebook...and we're almost at two years now.

I don't hookup anymore. At one point I used to do it often. I still get online, i think there's always that "what if he's on" factor in play. Also, it's just fun to look at what's out there.

I've been enjoying life as it comes. Porn has kinda been on auto pilot for the last 3 years. Just felt like it's time to do something new. Shake it up a bit. How have you been ?

Been recouping from a heart attack and some vascular surgeries. Starting to get back on my feet a bit now.

Affiliates links should be down low and little, not prime real estate where you should have stuff encouraging them to take the tour.

Bec, that's quite the ordeal you've been through. Very happy that you're on the recovery part. I honestly haven't been to my site since Christmas, the front end that is. I will check out what you said, I finished the design and just ran out of steam.
