Anyone else get their account suspended??
I just registered in Feb -- granted, I don't have a whole lot up for banners yet, but geeesshhh....
Yeah, as soon as they find out you're in porn, they suspend you. Funny though, they always wait long enough for you to get some banners up.
I wish CCBill would actually deal with this site and make them put up a huge warning on their sign-up page.

They don't accept promotion from Porn sites?!?!? Hell, I used my gaydicks4you email --- that should of provided a clue.
No they don't; they're a "online male fitness magazine" not a porn site.

Well, I got that part, I just wanted to put them on my muscle blogs for an upsell. Oh well.
I think every affiliate I know has tried to join their affiliate program only to get suspended. It happened to me four years ago or so.
I got suspended, what do they think they are selling that isn't good enough for porn sites??
I would imagine their mainstream models don't want to appear on porn sites.
Another issue could be porn surfers signing up thinking they are getting XXX.
So who and how does someone promote AAG? A whole site or blog devoted to it, and maybe a few other similar sites....? If they are doing so well, they must in part have a number of affiliates.
It's advertised as a fitness magazine, but mostly all they write about is how "sexy" and "hot" their models are, lots of them shown hot and bothered and ready for action, all bare skin right down to a fraction of an inch away from their genitals. There's a cam area with a guy butt naked looking like he's fucking the couch he's laying on or about to get humped. Gimme a break. I don't think people into fitness would ever look at this site unless they like men sexually.
I have to agree -- the site presents itself as "adult" content in a lot of ways.
And the proof of this is their (apparent) success AND this thread alone shows that adult webmasters see it as appropriate and worthwhile to their own businesses. Not talking about a few people who might register to anything without a glance but experienced webmasters.
Regardless that AAG's affiliate policy is odd, I do understand it's still their right. But I still don't get how the company is presumably so successful with this policy, how and who promotes it, and who looks at it. I can see it popular with some women, some men. It makes me wonder if there is population/market of closeted or "curious" men who seek erotica that simultaneously pretends it isn't, that hides genitalia because that is "too gay" or too much for them to take yet or ever. Unless it's shown in the member's area (LOL).
There's Man of Muscle now, and maybe I should chat with Patti about that. Looks hot and have to see what the affiliate terms are.
They're not alone in having a borderline pornographic site while disallowing actual porn sites as affiliates.
http://www.suicidegirls.com has a similar policy. I remember trying to join their program way back when I had some straight traffic. They shot me down too. If I remember correctly, they weren't very nice about it either.
just softcore porn. No one goes there to see how to workout...
They go there to jerk off!
I agree and i never understood how a site that is so highly sexualized has an issue with real, honest to goodness porn.
I mean really, get over yourselves the reason people are joining the site like has already been mentioned, is so that they can jack off to the hot guys LOL
Im wondering if it has something to do with the type of processing account they have though, i know mainstream processing accounts have much lower fees associated with them as they are not deemed 'high risk'.

Lee
if anyone decides to put them on a non-porn blog, keep in mind that they'll terminate your account if you have a single sponsor on the site that has any adult whatsoever in their member area. i was promoting a site that didn't even advertise nudity, but aag termed me without even giving me a chance to pull that other sponsor's link down.
AAG can do what they want. They can cut you loose because your name rubbed them wrong
However, they shouldn't be terminating affiliates left and right without first clearly stating what their traffic policies are. Even the shady Acai offers in mainstream clearly state what traffic they'll take
AAG's way of doing things is is shady to put it mildly, unless they're paying the commission earned by the affiliate and then closing the account?!
I'm looking at their webmaster page right now and there is nothing on it mentioning they don't accept porn traffic!
There's a nearly naked guy and a CCBill affiliate form below him. I don't know about other people but when I see CCBill affiliate form on a site with almost naked dudes I tend think porn traffic would be OK.
:daddy:
My account got canceled yesterday, signed up a week ago, just enough time for me to get all links and banners up....
If they don't want porn, that's fine by me, but put it on the damn signup page! Saves me and them time and efforts.
I found what explains the odd experiences with AAG, at least in my mind, by googling "all american guys" to find their affiliate's sites.
I only checked out a couple of sites. One blog supposedly was about all things to do with men, supposedly culture and fashion but with lots of male underwear banners. The other was about "hunks" and refined men with a header advertising the site as "Mom friendly." What? I didn't look further because it was just too weird.
Compare those sites to beautifulmag.eu, a more honest blog about beautiful men and fashion. No tension or concern about whether something is porn, sex or not. It's a comfortable celebration of the male body and all to do with it - sexuality, fashion, so forth. (The "email me" address looks French?)
The few AAG affiliates that I checked out show an underlying tense, driven focus on sex that is more obsessive, closeted, and sexually repressed. It's like the rabid tease you get from closeted game-playing men. Each word in AAG is interesting and noteworthy: super American "guys". That sure is hot to me, but not the the flip side. Not that Europe necessarily has it all together with sex, but AAG affiliates epitomize sexual attitudes in America, particularly about recognizing male beauty and sexuality in a Puritan based culture.
Ah, somebody else who likes to tear into something to see what makes it tick! Interesting results on the sites allowed to hang up a banner or two.
