American Traffic

I some times think my website is the best kept secret n the planet lol specializing in gay spanking has its drawbacks as its such a niche market. I think Ive swap banners with most site that are small companies like me in the hope of gaining more traffic but i was wondering if anyone can give me any advice in regards to buying or gaining traffic especially for the US market. Some sites like spankthis seem to have it sown up in the a big way. I was wondering about the name of my site as well which is cp4men.net Ive recently acquired badboyzgetspanked.com and wonder if by changing the name this would help in getting my product higher up the list especially with google and other search engines.. any thoughts would be very appreciated

I dont work in the gay niche but traffic is traffic. As for the domain you are using currently. I would get that off sooooo fast its amazing. CP4men. sounds like it is a child pron site. I would get that down fast..

the other domain you mention is a bit long but has keywords and thats a good thing.

over purchasing traffic I would work on some general SEO and link trading first.

The name cp4men is supposed to mean corporal punishment for men! but I suppose unless your into spanking it could be misconstrued-funny thing is it really did not cross my mind it could have such a bad double meaning! As you probably know virtually all the top names have gone for every form of spelling in the way of gay spanking so badboyzgetspanked.com was just about the only one left! Its a bit long winded but it does give a good description-if anything the only thing Im a bit nervous about is the word boyz but theres just nothing left! lol

did you get my PM with a few other suggested domain names?

I'm sure there are more options for domain names. That's not a completely saturated niche. I would start by seeing the traffic on some major keywords are and then see how you can fit that into a domain. Remember, you could go for a hyphen without too much concern.

how about corppunish4men or something along those lines? i just checked and it is available!

Try the site Justdropped.com I think it is.. You would be amazed at what domains are dropping every day.

these were available back in March when I checked, not sure if they still are.

Thanks for the name ideas Luke but after some soul searching and some .com searching Ive decided to go with (roll on drums) badboyzgetspanked.com I think it says it all. My big problem now is how I do the change over. I was going to use the index/disclaimer page for badboyz and link to my site-would that be the easiest way around it-it seems that way! however if any has any other suggestions that doesn't include re-buiidng the website which would be a nightmare Im all ears!

The thing is, with a domain like that you're not going to get any direct domain searches because it's too complex. There are millions of hits on sites every month from people typing a complete domain rather than searching keywords.

By making your domain name simple and direct, reflecting what is on the site, you are automatically gaining that direct traffic that you would otherwise be competing for.

Personally, I would say that the domain is not the place to be creative. You need that to be the most obvious representation of what the site is about to do better in search immediately, to help with keywords in the future and to help visitors to find it through remembering a simple address.

This is just my opinion, but I would definitely go for something Luke has suggested.

That might be a bit better but it will for sure target the British market.. Thats not a BAD thing but it is smaller than hitting the american markets..

What I meant by general seo is to make sure you use the title tags and other meta tags correctly as well as the text on the site. You want to make it easy for the SE's to read your pages and know what you have.

Some will tell you that does not matter but since you are not going full blown SEO project just yet, it sure as hell wont hurt.

Thanks Conran. Im using rapid weaver and am aware of the meta tag side of things so I will make sure there plenty of adjectives in place-still not sure what SEO stands for lol.
Im still unsettled about what name to use as I dont want to confuse my present customer base. Ive had the name Cp4men for over 5 years now and used it as an email address for at least 10 years and any can see the site is not child porn related so it just hard getting my head around changing the name after being so successful-Just as a thought

Fwd the domain to the new one and do the same with the mail. Issue solved. Thing is the more CP comes to light the worse it can get for you.

This is advice from people and you do NOT have to take it but I think all of us agree its in your best interest in the long run.

as for SEO it stands for Search Engine Optimization.

I think I'll have to take the dog for a walk-it helps me think-maybe I should run a competition for the best name and give a way a months member ship lol

After looking at keyword research tools, Google suggests the following data:

gaypunishment 1,900

I don't know what the status of any of those is, but...
If you own badlads, that has 1 MILLION searches a month!

With low competition too.

That is a perfect example of someone not quite knowing what they have. :wink1:
