Yes, the "content reseller" part is a big clue because does anyone else do this besides Pride Bucks?

Has anyone seen an official response from Pride Bucks about this yet? This is the only forum I check so I was wondering if they've gone public about this elsewhere or are still trying to keep it hush-hush.

Usually when a company puts itself up for sale and is looking for a buyer it is almost always hush hush. I have no idea why Bruce would basically go on a board and scream, "Pride Bucks is for sale!". It makes no sense to me whatsoever.

But then again most of the B2B posts that he makes don't make much sense to me either.

There are actually a lot of things in this industry that don't make much sense to me... :grr:

Yeah, that's true, but when it becomes public knowledge you'd think the owner might make a statement or put out a release, especially Harlen since he's usually active on adult forums and has been very forthcoming about other Pride Bucks related issues. I'm just wondering if he even knows the "cat is out of the bag"... or maybe our speculation is wrong and he can deny it?

In all actuality I don't understand why sites/programs for sale use a broker in the first place. There are only a handful of companies at most that are even interested in acquisitions at this point in time, and everyone in the industry knows who they are. When it comes time for those companies to put the money on the table there are only a couple that are willing to do it. Why not just go to those companies directly and save a lot of hassle?

Lots of things don't make sense to me in this industry now. This is one of them.

I think a lot of companies use brokers or investment firms, because they know the ins and outs of the entire process and can be good guides to many of these companies and save them time and heartache in the event the needed bases are not covered. Let us not forget that there are adult investment firms out there as well, who brokers deal with and not just the handful of companies that absorb companies either in trouble or companies where folks just simply want to move on with something else. Here is just one good example, http://www.adultinvestment.com/ and there are many out there who use private investors, not even in the business, but have the money to put folks into place to grow their investment. If indeed Pridebucks, then maybe they simply don't want to have to deal with all of the questions and comments that would come into play if they even said one word.

AdultVest fizzled, didn't it? Wasn't that started by the guy that bought iPorn.com, ran it into the ground and then had investors wondering what happened to all of their money?

The AdultVest website seems to be active. Has anyone ever used them with success? Are there really people out there interested in adult entertainment investing?

I second that.
I've breezed through most of his posts and moved on simply because I don't understand and on most I just don't care.

The biggest things I've learned in the industry are:
1) Keep your friends close but those you absolutely can't stand closer.
2) Keep to yourself, the next person will try to burn your ass.
3) Hustle like a prostitute in heat.

There are a few in between. When we used to get the XBiz or AVN mags in the mail there were companies or advertisers all over the place looking to invest. This was somewhere around a year or two ago, I doubt there's many now.
We actually have an investor, our former landlord. Sort of....
But with the new change in our lives and business models, he's moved over and invested in our mainstream company which I must admit is flying off the handle! My partner (boyfriend) and I are working 14+ hours a day, 6 days a week right now. We've brought in a guy to run and market our sites so that we can solely focus on the new company.

If you actually show a profit margin, success, and you're not scatterbrained with what you do and you find someone who has "money" and can prove to them that they would make a return with figures... It's not that hard.

I had not heard anything about Adultvest going by the wayside, very interesting. At any rate there are other companies out there who represent owners of sites for sale and also represent investors, mostly private investors. I know this first hand because we have been approached by more than one company in the last year alone.

No doubt. Its still a great industry no matter the naysayers.

AdultVest has me confused because the site is still up. Maybe he sold it? I personally wouldn't trust it considering the history of the founder .
