Good Luck Guys..
Good luck too, we'll ride it out at home it seems if not the brother in law or somewhere south
Good luck guys. Good news for all of us in the Treasure Coast and above as the impact point now is centered at Jupiter Inlet. While the hurricane force winds will still be felt in my area and as it moves through the center of the state, I am quite relieved as of now. Lee, present course would have the storm only as a tropical storm by the time it reaches your area. But caution and preparedness is the rule of thumb.
Damn a storm just started here - nothing to due with the hurricane but if it lasts I will have to be making the final preparations in the rain and wind.
Best wishes to everyone in its path. I've never been through one but they don't look pretty.
It looks like we won't be dealing with the brunt of the wind and rain if this track stays the same, thankfully. But so many of the news channels down here won't commit because of what happened with Charley.
The county wants us out anyway. We're on a slim portion of the north penninsula, where the Halifax River is less than 200 yards from the Atlantic.
We're finishing up preparations now. This is a first for Lee and I. I'm trying to thnk of this as light as possible. Instead of thinking of evacuating, I'm telling myself we're taking a long weekend with my family LMOAPIP You know what... I think evacuating is a better thought LMAOPIP (don't mind me I'm trying to deal LOL)

i really feel for you guys. better to take higher ground than to try and stick it out. as we all say last month, hurricanes don't always follow a predicted path.
harlan just said he got an evac notice in miaim, so he is heading out as well.
my thoughts are with you all. hang in there.
same thing here
they say it's coming but don't know where exactly it can go west or it can go east. reminds me of Floyd it turned at the last minute and grazed the coast hopefully that one will too
Hey good luck guys.
I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
Glad you're getting out. Stay safe!

im still sitting here in tampa... havent decided what to do yet. the news isnt really helpful. lol
Good luck everyone. I hope that somehow the storm lessens or at least misses the state somehow.

Where are you located?
GA
What is so devasting mentally right now is the uncertainity of where the hurricane will make landfall and its so progress. Over the past 48 hours landfall center has been moved from my home city (Vero Beach) south and now back again. The hurricane has been downgraded and that is great but what to expect as it moves closer to the Florida coast. The slow moving storm means that we will be subject to tropical storm force winds for over 36 hours and hurricane force winds for a minimum of 12 hours.
Floridians always come together as a community after a storm. However, prior to the storm we always pray and pray so very hard that it will move off to another location. Sorry Gary and Lee but all of us in the Treasure Coast are praying so very hard that it heads your way or even to south to Broward or Dade County. It might seem terrible for us to pray for this path but I am more than positive that you all are praying for a more southernly landfall or even one in Georgia.
News broadcasters say the slowness of the storm gives us more time to prepare but in reality it has only increased the anxiety and worry for most of us. I hate to say it but I just wish that it would decreased in strenght and move faster so the damage will be lessened and just to get it over with.
All In the path please take care.
Godspeed friends.

I don't know if the reports on tv, like MSNBC are accurate, but if there even close, it sounds horrible. They said that there are 16 counties under mandatory evacuation. I hope all of you in Florida are staying safe. If we can help in any way, please let us know.
Tony
Greetings everyone...South Beach was added to the evac list yesterday followed by all of Miami Beach. Thankfully I have relatives who live inland so at least I am not writing this from a shelter.
Looks like the next 24 hours will be pivotal for us. G-d Bless all in harm's way. I've been through Hurricanes Andrew, Irene and Georges and look forward to adding Frances to the "been there anmd lived to tell bout that one too" list!
Just read some more reports myself.
Holy shit.
Everyone take care.
For what it's worth, anything I can do for anyone, just LMK.
Maybe I was lucky I stayed at the Delano while it was still there.
Hope not.

I have all of you Florida folks on my mind... take care...
