Anyone have any suggestions as to which is the best Gay AVS?
I have about 7 sites already designed and I have the word free in the design...does anyone know which ones do not allow that?
I just remember some of them put the kibosh on using that term a while ago...
I made these a couple of years ago and I'd hate to have to do change anything.
I'd appreciate advice and suggestions

Well right now im going to be using both http://www.mancheck.com and http://www.mansites.com because both of those companies have reps that post on our community so i know if i need any help with anything where to go to ask for it :thumbsup:

Yeah, silly me just saw the thread with info about mancheck.
I have a few questions (about what or how much content my sites should have) so, I hope Dzinerbear sees this.
Although, I figure I will be having to change the designs cause of the term "free" I used when I was with Gay Passport.

If you were using the word "free" in terms of "click here to see my free preview pictures" and they were on the outside and truly free, MANcheck doesn't have a problem with that.
But our billing doesn't allow us to say that we give people "free trial memberships."
If you want me to look at some wording on existing pages, I'm happy to do that for you. You can send me a PM or I'm logged into AIM as dzinerbeartor.
You need to have 50 pictures in a gallery to submit a regular site to MANcheck.
MANcheck pays extremely on time. We offer good webmaster support. Sites and e-mails are usually taken care of within hours. And you've always got me hanging around the board. And shit, it's the weekend and I'm even still here. :)
And MANcheck doesn't have 100,000 sites so yours won't get lost.
Give me a buzz.

Mancheck and Mansites are the first 2 we take our clients to when they're looking for AEN arrangments and options.
And it's not because we get a kickback or anything cuz we definitely don't.
It's because they end up happiest at either or sometimes even both of those 2 programs and keeps them satisfied, as well as makes life easier for us in the longrun when they're happy.

I have more than 50 pics on each with videos and live cam too...
I'm going to have to make a few adjustments to the word free in the design...like maybe just link it to the "free stuff" at MANchecks, instead of trying to fix it to say something else (The pic is already there and like I said I sliced it and didn't keep the layer file) but, I can squeeze a link in there I think....if that's expectable.
When I make the corrections, I'll get them uploaded and shoot you the urls

I'm trying to wrap my mind around AVS too as I'm thinking that's the next stage for me for my porn site(s) (not my dating site).
As Mancheck has come up into this thread it occurred that I have a few questions about it -- checked it out a few weeks ago...
- How does Mancheck or any other gay avs for that matter, affect my Canadian visitors? Does it work the same regardless of where in the world the customer comes from?
- This thing about outbound links bothers me... I tend to cross promote my sites, promote link exchanges and promote affiliates as much as possible. I try to build a lot of content so that I can advertise within context when possible or just advertise, just like a magazine or a newspaper...
So the round about question for the previous point is: Is that not on with avs' or mancheck?
OK nuff questions for now don't want to get too confusing...
Any insights/answers appreciated. :)

I'm not sure what you're getting at with the Canadian visitor thing. Can you elaborate? Canadians aren't handled any different than American surfers, except Cdns are billed in US dollars, as is practically every other surfer on the planet.

I'm also unclear what you're getting at here as well, so perhaps you could PM me a sample of one of your pages. I can say that MANcheck wants to be sure that it's crystal clear first to MANcheck members how to access your site's content. That may seem obvious, but a lot of sites just sign up with an AEN like MANcheck to take traffic, so confusing MANcheck members can help the site owner divert traffic to their own paysites and interests.
That's not to say you can't advertise other sponsors, you can. But if you bury "click here to enter" at the bottom of the page in an 8pt font, your site probably wouldn't get listed in our search engine. And if your site isn't listed you don't get traffic from MANcheck, nor do you get rebills on any sales that you make. We reserve rebills for webmasters who are working with us, not against us.
We also want it to be clear to non-MANcheck members how to purchase a membership. So if a webmaster is playing tricks, baiting and switching, etc, their sites might not even get approved and allowed into the MANcheck network.

So, let's see...when it says, "the site may not up-sell, or redirect traffic to an outside source" is that refering to trickery? If so no probs from me on that.
But that two banner stipulation to me sounds excessive -- unless our definitions of what a "site" consists of is different. Which is what I suspect is the case, because when I hear people talking about their "free sites" I find they're actually talking about a sub directory off of their main domain dedicated to perhaps a niche.
This is all so confusing for me; I have lot's of websites and been doing this for some time but only one porn site right now....

The rules have been created to protect MANchech from the hoards who really just look at MC as a sort of Google to divert traffic to their sites. They're not really interested in selling MC memberships, they just want access to the traffic.
For instance, one well-known paysite instructs its employees and webmasters to follow the rules, and then, after a month just go in, pretty much get rid of the site, and redirect all of the traffic to the paysite.
So the upselling rules are meant primarily to cover these kinds of players and situations. We realize that most webmasters want to promote something else along with MANcheck on their sites, it's how we all make money. As long as it's not excessive, or so long as you're not blatantly ripping us off, then we shouldn't have any problems.
MANcheck thinks of a site and a gallery as the same thing. Whereas you might be thinking of a site as everything on one domain, which is probably more correct. Remember MANcheck was created back in the days before megasites became all the rage. So if you submit two galleries of pictures and they're both on the same domain, we'd consider them to be two separate "sites." So you could have two banners on each one. And traffic banners are different than banners to other sites. I don't have a problem with traffic banners like Hunk Hunter, ManPics, etc.
I think I answered everything you brought up. And again, if you want me to look at anything before you submit it, just give me a buzz.
The other benefit of promoting MANcheck is that once you sign up, I'll continue to work with you to get your sales up. It doesn't just stop as soon as you sign up. I'll give you as much help as you want, but I don't badger you like a content salesman. :)

I haven't read MANcheck's rules in a long time and I didn't realize that they were so tough.
My AVS site structure is usually like this...
Tour (2 or 3 pages total)
1) Warning/Splash page
2) AVS pitch/Entrance script
I have only 1 outgoing link on my tour that goes to my AVS hub site for that particular AVS, ie. MANcheck sites link to my MANcheck hub, UGAS sites link to my UGAS hub.
Members Area (5 pages total)
1) Members index; includes links to the 4 gallery pages, 1 sponsor banner and 1 link to my AVS hub.
2) 4 Gallery pages; includes 12-15 pics per page, 1 sponsor banner per page and 1 link to my AVS hub on the 4th gallery page.
I link my thumbs to .html pages with the full-size image. I do not put any banners on these pages... I just do that so IE doesn't resize the images and screw up the quality of the images.

There seems to be some confusion about the upselling part of MANcheck's rules and regs.
We're not so much concerned with banners promoting other sites. What we don't want to see is once a MANcheck member enters their login and password, they need to be getting access to 50 pictures. A webmaster cannot give them access to 10 pictures and then require the surfer to buy a membership to another paysite to see the rest.
This is what we mean by upselling. If you'd like to promote Dads I Like to Fuck on your inside thumbnail pages, that's cool.
Does this make sense? I'll have to talk to our manager and see about getting those TOS a little clearer.

Gad -- The things that scammers will try...I hadn't even thought of the traffic angle for one; just thought it was a nice little perk to the service. :)

Nice replies Dzinerbear, very informative answers. Thanks Lee and Brian for the kudos.
Mansites.com is similar, but the difference in our program is that we don't have any limitations on banners. We understand the problems Dzinebear and others run into with affiliates trying to place a gallery and then to syphon off traffic in unscrupulous ways, but we try to be proactive with the abusing affiliate rather than limit the honest ones.
We also are a free site, and since it is free for a full year, we we don't have any limitation in using the word free to promote our system. It isn't a trial, Mansites is free for a year, with a trial to a larger site they can cancel easily and still keep mansites. We think this is why we are able to maintain our high conversions.
