Just thought i would ask you folks what you thought some of the actual business 'costs' of running sites in the adult industry were on average?
By that i mean, you need to pay for hosting, content, traffic, but what other costs are involved these days to run a successfull business entity?

Other costs...hmmm...don't know really,i usually work from home so i can't say i don't see familly much,but there are many ppl who work from office and don't see familly enough..maybe that?
Hmm, well I'd say that marketing is a cost, whether in time or actual dollars. To me marketing is different than just traffic too, it has to involve design and ad copy.
Course there is also security costs, firewalls etc and software such as advanced scripting, image enhancements.
Legal costs also are I think on the rise no matter where you reside due to the situation in the USA.
Time though would be the largest hog of resources as it is the one limited factor that can't be added to. You only have so much time for everything.
just my opinion though.

gaystoryman mentions one cost most people don't think of as a cost - time!
if you spend 3 hours a day making and posting a gallery 5 days a week, that is 60 hours a month of your time. if you worked at mcdonalds, that would have a value of $360. to most of us, that's more than $1000 worth of time - yet people who work at home often think of their work time as free. they wouldn't pay $500 for a kickass excellent big hits gallery listing for 30 days, but they will spend 60 - 100 hours per month of their time, and not condider it an expense.
the same sort of thing with free trade scripts that take 1% of your hits. yes, it's fair to take that 1%. but to the webmasters using that script, it *might* actually take hits of a value above what it would cost to buy a script. it's worth figuring out, just to be sure you're getting the value you think you are.
time and hits are worth money, so when i spend them, i consider it an expense!
