This is a very good question. I've always been a tad nervous about promoting chemicals that people put in their bodies or equipment that seems more tortuous than beneficial. I always wondered if anyone had ever came back to a site that referred the surfer to the product, and could that webmaster be sued?
I don't know. Can NBC be sued by someone whose suffered negative consequences after they took a diet product they saw advertised on television? I'm not a lawyer, but if a stupid woman in Bumfuck USA can sue McDonald's because she burned her legs when they squished the coffee cup that she had placed there; if a break and enter thief has the right to sue you after he tripped over a bunch of renovation material you had left all over the floor, then I don't doubt that we'll one day see a webmaster getting sued because someone's penis fell off.
I am, however, going to give Stud Trainer a try because it seems pretty benign. I suppose someone could possibly sprain their penis, but the chances for negative consequences seem pretty low. (They don't seem to have a webmaster referrral program yet, their program is pretty new, but the above URL does contain my affiliate referral code.) For me, I philosophically do not add or subtract weight to a product if it has been approved by the FDA. I also am a big advocate of keeping herbal and vitamin products unregulated. If the FDA were to approve some kind of penis enlargement product, like Enzyte, then it would be something that would require a doctor's prescription, like Viagra.
That would mean for us we would be selling such FDA approved products through one of those RX affiliate programs that are legally in a fog. So to answer Lee's question - it would not only be a question of choosing to promote the product, but also whether I would be comfortable promoting an affiliate program that "sells" doctor's prescriptions and upsets most states' attorneys general.
Now I happen to already use an online discount cigarettes affiliate program, but I chose that one after I looked into the programs out there, and found one that I found reputable, legally sound, and not "fly by night." There are other things to consider for such an affiliate program: do they turn a blind eye to spam? Are their affiliate terms lucrative?
I also promote casino programs too after some research. So I can be convinced, but the product needs to be good, and the program needs to be good.
