I know a few of the GWW community members only do webmastering in adult part time but what about the rest of us?
How many hours a week / day do you put into working on your sites and growing your online business?

Lee

We're lucky enough to be in a major growth phase right now, so our various projects (boyfunk.com, boysecrets.com, boysfeetclub.com, plus our DVD line) are taking about 50-60 hours/week each for AJ and I, plus about 45 hours of work split between our two part-time staffers.
Of that time, it seems that a lot of it goes to planning and development of new marketing opportunities and relationship building. Of the remainder, it's mostly split between administration, email correspondence, and overseeing the updates, video editing, and other stuff that we've for the most part handed off to our staffers to take care of.
I might as well be 2 full time webmasters given how much time I spend working.
It's 4am and I'm on this board.
That about says it right there.

Man I hear ya...... Last night I intended to go out. But after finishing everything I just decided to go partake that that fine Texas dining experience known as the "Whataburger Drive Thru"
I do this all full time. However, personally I could not work on adult stuff 24/7, which is why I am glad I have some non-adult sites.
Steve
I'll be full-time in a couple weeks! I have been part-time for over 2 years and recently I have been averaging about 20 hours a week building AVS sites and maintaining (not counting GWW time and IM'ing).
I'm looking forward to devoting 60 hours a week to building!

There is always something to do be done. I tried doing this for the first year part time but the job I had was already about a 60 hour a week job os it was pretty impossible. I did do both for about 4 months and was beat! I am glad I work full time and still about 7 days a week. It takes alot of work but I really enjoy it!
This month I celebrate 10 years in the adult industry and two years running my own sites independantly full time.
Even while I worked for other people, I always had my own stuff going on the side. Thank goddess I did, because when the bottom fell out with outside employers, I always had something to fall back on.
i've been full-time in online porn since 1996
I've been fulltime since 2000, and have 3 direct staff all fulltime as well....Quote:

I've been full time for about 4 years now. Anywhere from 10-14 hours a day. Depending on the project i'm working on.
Same here..it's amazing I'm still sane.Quote:

Or at least that's what my friends say..lol
Since we've been building a house ourselves (going on 3 years now)
we/I've been part time (putting in about 20 or 30 hours a week)
When the house stuff gets too crazy, my hours go down to about 10 hours a week. I get very far behind with my sites and every thing that's happening in the adult industry...not good
In two months though when the house is done to a good point (i.e. we can live in it) I'll be more full time with our sites. YIPPY!!!
I have been full-time since 1998. I usually work 9am to 4pm four days a week. Not over doing it keeps me from getting burned-out.
I'm not a webmaster yet but when I do become one, I want Northstar's hours.
:kitten:
I quit my full time retail job a few years back. I've been building sites and webmastering full time ever since. Been around "part-time" longer though. Hours -- Lots. :)
Full time...I try to keep it to 60 hours a week....I work to live not live to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The other day, my friend was complaining about how he'd been scheduled to work 30 hours this week and that left him with absolutely no time to himself.
I get the feeling we're not in Kansas anymore, Webmasters.
Full time here too. But trying to keep the hours in a realistic frame is difficult.
The first 7 hours a day is spent on the business side (accountants, lawyers, correspondence, contracts and such) the next 7 is spent on webmastering and tech.
I'm so hoping to get to that point one day LOLQuote:

I would rather live with less then to wake up one day and realize I worked so hard I never had time to enjoy the fruits of my labor let alone time spent with the people I love.Quote:

A wise man once said to me:
What is there to be gained by being the richest man in the cemetary?
I work my butt off, but I do take time out when I can ;-)
I LIKE stopping to smell the roses.

Lee and I have made some solid resolutions (not just the New Years kind) to take the time we need and deserve.
It really wasn't until late last year that we realized what was happening. And after what has happened in my life, alone, I should know better.
CBT will you share the rose? ;)
My best,
GA
Gary, I will always have roses to share you guys ;-)Quote:

If I run short, I will simply plant more.
Either that or steal them from the lovely garden of the old duck up the road.
He he.
