VIAGRA Alternative?

Hey everyone. Does anyone know of an EFFECTIVE supplement that will have the same effects as Viagra? One that'll help a guy retain AND maintain an erection for a few hours with minimal stimulation? Something that's over the counter.

Is it a bad idea to have a supply of Viagra on the set for these guys to take? That sounds like a bad idea to me as Viagra is a prescription drug, but i've heard that some of the bigger studios provide their models with it. ???
How would you get it anyway? You'd have to lie and have the doctor prescribe it for you, right? ohhh that sounds like trouble

I produce adult video content and i primarily work with straight guys who seem to have a hard time keeping an erection for the duration of the shoot so i'm left with a lot of "soft-dick" footage. My life would be a lot easier if there was something i could do about this.

If there was something over-the-counter that worked as well as Viagra and Cealis, you'd know about it.

They'd probably offer it free with a fill up as a gas station.

Yes, many of the content developers will offer Viagra to their models. I assume they just buy it online. We had this arguement a while ago, and although I wasn't in support of the idea, it seems that my fears of people dropping dead of heart attacks was over-blown.

So you don't think there's much risk involved in offering Viagra to the models on the set on the day of the shoot? Isn't that a HUGE liability? Is this a common practice with producers?

I had no idea that you could order the stuff on the net...do they get you to sign a waiver? In that case, isn't it pretty much illegal to order the stuff yourself and then get another person to take it?

But yes, it's a very common practice, and I don't think there's been a Viagra-related porn death yet.

Personally I wouldnt. What if something happened and the model was allergic to something in the viagra? Then youre the one responsible for it. Youre not a doctor and have no business giving it out to "employees" in order for them to perform.
If they want to do it on their own, fine, but I wouldnt supply it for them or suggest they take it before the shoot.

Id tell the models not to cum the night before or the day of the shoot and be ready and hard for filming.

If you do decide to go with viagra anyways, make sure they dont poppers cuz that combination can kill them.

oh, and Ive bought those fake herbal viagra pills they sell at the counters at conveinent stores and they didnt do shit for me.

Having worked on both sides of the camera, I can tell you that I can't imagine a shoot without Viagra. Essentially all of the studios I've worked with offer it and encourage the models to take it. While they may have liability concerns, the alternative is much longer hours, lots of frustration and probably an inferior end prodcut.

Clearly if you are going to be using it, don't mix it with poppers.

I had concerns about providing it to models when I started shooting but after sitting around for hours and hours waiting for models to get hard, I now suggest it as "insurance." Most of the models are happy to take it, even those who have not tried it before. I've never seen a problem with it.

I would suggest you alwasy start with a small dose, 25 or 50mg. You can buy it in 100 mg tabs and cut them up.

As to how to get it, I just asked my doctor and she wrote me a script with a bunch of refills. If you have a gay-friendly doc you shouldn't have too much problem.

Now if they could just come up with a pill to improve my attitude today...Oh wait, they did, I took it, I'm better now...thanks.

Personally, given that dispensing a control drug without a prescription is a federal offence id think long and hard (excuse the pun) before givign your models any :)

So how about those herbal and over-counter drugs they sell at health food stores? Do any of those work? Of course non of them will be as effective as Viagra...but are there any decent ones out there?

Some of the ingredients in the herbal alternatives do increase sex drive and may improve erection firmness. But NONE of them will produce the results that Viagra, Cialis or Levitra will.

Welcome to the real world :P You have several creative options here. If you get a legitimate prescription from a legitimate doctor, you do not pay as much as from KwikMed or another online "pharmacy"

Dillmedia is right - if your doctor is gay friendly you can often just ask for it, and they won't bat an eye. They also have samples. One friend of mine brought up the subject by saying that he sometimes has trouble staying hard in a condom, and he hoped viagra would fix it. Easy shmeazy.

Another option - just ask some of your older friends for some help. If you know a gay man over 40, I'd bet real money that he currently has an active prescription for viagra.

I also happen to like levitra just as much, btw. And get the big 100 mg pills.
You can purchase a inexpensive pill cutter from any pharmacy. So when the doc writes the prescription, make sure they write the 100 mg amount as opposed to the 50s.

I would give the models 25mg "quarters" to take. I cannot imagine any possible negative ramifications at that amount, taken alone without any poppers of course.

I think the largest doseage for Levitra is 20mg, desslock. You can split those into 4 and you have the same effect as splitting a 100mg Viagra into 4.

I have heard from some of our models that Cialis works faster than Viagra, and does not cause the headaches or "blue vision" side effects that are very common from Viagra.

However, I've also heard some say that Viagra, and to a lesser extent Cialis, will get you hard, but actually seem to delay or inhibit orgasm. The models that have used one or both seem rather split; some are comfortable bringing it to a shoot because it helps, others say that the side effects and delayed orgasm are too much trouble, and they do fine without.

I did a bunch of research online some time ago about the different drugs and couldn't find much worth reading... that is until I found a report comparing the three in, of all places, fool.com (the investment advisors.) They did a very exhaustive report on all three, discussing mechanisms of action, studies, effectiveness, etc...

And I echo the other comments about the herbal alternatives. Not only do they not work very well, apparently, but many also contain potentially dangerous things like a combo of high-dose caffeine and ephedra or psuedoephedrin... these increase blood pressure, but probalby not much else.

yeah, i have them look at porn, BDBionic, but it still takes them so god damn log at times. And i pay the models on a per-hour basis so i like to keep the shoots as short as possible.

The time factor is not the main issue though, it's the frustration that comes with having to take "breaks" every so often. I find it very disruptive to the work.

The issue for our guys is usually distraction/nervousness. And for those things, the Cialis or Viagra solution definitely seems to work better than looking at porn. (For that matter, having a hot guy suck you off ought to be a lot better than looking at porn, and you'd be surprised how often that doesn't work, either.)

Particularly for us, we shoot outdoors a lot, so distractions come up... random people wandering somewhere nearby, or a bird shits right next to where the scene is going on (it's happened) or something else that totally ruins the mood.

The worst for us was when we were about to shoot a scene in an area that was *supposed* to be completely secluded and way out of the way where no one ever wandered by... except that, when we were about 5 minutes from starting to shoot the scene, a group of about 60 kindergartners wandered by with their teacher about 200 feet from where we were. Nobody saw anything (no one was naked) but that pretty much killed the mood for the guys and we had to move to a completely different location.

I know exactly what you mean BoyFunk. Sometime they just CAN'T get into it and there's really nothing you can do about it. Especially because of the fact that we work primarily with straight guys who've also never done this kindda work before.

So just try to imagine if you can...you're straight....you're jerking off on video for the first time...it's going to be published on the web for everyone to see...there's a gay guy on the camera...there are no girls around...there is a porn flick in the background but the sound is off...etc...

Sometime i forget what these poor guys are going through. Then i snap back into it and try and work with them instead of blaming them...sometime a break is necessary....other times a snack...whatever does the trick.

But BoyFunk, how do you approach the whole thing? It seems creepy to offer the models drugs right before the shoot.."here you go...why don't you take this? It'll make things MUCH easier" oooooh sounds so creepy! hehe

I guess i'll just have to find a less creepy way of going about it...like maybe mixing some into their drinks ;) haha j/k of course!!

Well, first off, we don't get involved in it at all. If the models feel they need Viagra or Cialis, they bring it with them to the shoot.

Secondly, the thing that we find works really well, particularly for the solos, is if the models are having problems, we simply offer to disappear for a few minutes. There are usually between two and four of us on the production team, and we will just go into another room, or out of sight and away from the models, and let them be alone. In about 95 cases out of 100, that solves the problem, and the model can get hard without worrying that a bunch of guys are watching him jerk off. The other thing is normalizing the response, letting the guy know that almost *everyone* we work with runs into those problems and they shouldn't be embarrassed or self conscous about it. Once they realize that it's normal for them to be nervous and to have equipment problems, that alone decreases their nervousness... and then if we let them be, they also realize that we're being respectful of them and aren't there just to gawk at their weenie, and so that generally solves the problem.

yeah, that's exactly what i do...leave the room for however long it takes and give them some privacy. That tends to work quite well. It's reassuring to know that i'm on the right track. Thanks man!
