I'm trying the 'black' one for 1 week, but was interested in your guys opinion on a) which you prefer design wise, and b)which tour you think would sell better?

I don't think either tour really showcases what you have to offer in a way that will maximize conversions.
I think the big image on tour 2 is a big plus, but the text of different sizes on the right as a navigation isn't easy on the eyes to use.
On tour 1 I like the fact you show the extent of your content and really sell it, but the images of the actual content are slow, while the graphics of the tour take a bit to long to load on my computer.
Please don't think I'm being a dick. You have kick ass awesome content that I really like. Everyone has different opinions and it could be you're making a fortune and I have no idea what I'm talking about lol
I second Squirt's opinions. I like your content but neither tour does much for me.
The second tour is so narrow and you are not utilizing much of the available screen area to showcase your content. The only people who will appreciate the width are those surfers still on 13" monitors. I wouldn't use this tour at all because of the width.
The first tour.... I would use much larger images and feature each model individually. When I look at the tour, I don't really know what I would be getting with a membership. I'd really like to get to know the models... maybe see some sample pics and movies.
I would also stop using graphic text gimmicks such as gradients except for on the the splash graphics. It's makes it too difficult to read. Besides "real" text is a SE friendly. I wouldn't fade the edges of the images either. It looks kind of dated. Crisp, clean rectangular images pop off the screen much more.
Imo, bigger is better except for text... keep that small. I believe that big images and wide pages are more pleasing to surfers nowdays. But I may be completely wrong. I'm certainly no expert and the above advice is merely my own opinion.
your content is awesome and you have wonderful models but alas - i, too, find neither tour really works for me :(
I like the black tour better, it shows more guys than the blue one. But here's some suggestions:
I'd put a fine border around the whole thing, it just seems to fall off at the sides.
I'd get rid of the "perspective" skewed pics in the middle and just go with rectangular pics. The distortion of the pictures bothers me.
I also like the logo better on the black one.
The "Two Bonus Area ..." text is getting lost, the wide blue stroke around the text doesn't make it stand out. I'd try and brighter colour and a thinner stroke.
Likewise, your grey text on and below the thumbs gets a bit lost for me, try the yellow, or the blue with a yellow stroke. Stay away from red, too many colour-blind men.
Perhaps make a couple of the thumbs clickable, so they get a better preview of that gallery.

OK so can you have a look at this MOCK up, bearing in mind that ...model info would be added under their mane (in small text LOL) and tell me if you think it would be your choice out of the three. I'm going totally the other direction now as far as graphics are concerned and trying to keep it as simple as possible...............

Yep, I like that. But I like the black look better. How about combining them and using this newest one as a "closer" look.

Dave, I love your site too. The only thing I find is that the navigation isn't totally clear. I think you can get away with a little more traffic direction.. Tour.. Next.. Next..Next.. Join.
The black version problem is that the "free tour" button is lower left. I was expecting it to be lower right and say "continue tour". Maybe toss in more "join now" and "continue tour" links mid page? I don't know.. but its a minor thing that I think will get them moving through better.
I don't know what to click on the blue version, the black is better, and I really like that mockup page you posted last! Thats gonna sell very well if it is a tour page template that dumps into a join page. Your site is so much more than armpits!
Oh.. and your affiliate linking code through ccbill is still going to a blue page. I want to go to the black one! LOL

I'd much rather link to your mock up with a black background as I'd think that one would convert the best.
MUCH BETTER! Big pics on a wide page... excellent! You might want to mess around with the yellow image border a bit... make it narrower or less bright. It detracts from the images a little. And you may want to try aligning the smaller images in the right column differently. The zig-zag alignment is a little confusing to my eye.Quote:

Sorry that's not the immediate answer you wanted but this is only a test after all. The existing tour was already converting nicely, I was merely trying to squeeze a few more in to the conversion bucket :)
