YouTube hits 1 hour of video uploads per second

Google's YouTube blog posted an entry today saying that YouTube uploads have hit an astonishing 60 hours per minute, and YouTube is now serving 4 billion views a day!

They have even released a website to commemorate this milestone. The website shows a fun clip comparing YouTube stats to other common stats: http://www.onehourpersecond.com/

Created in 2005, YouTube was sold to Google on October 9, 2006. Google has been releasing upload hours-per-minute stats for a number of years now. In 2007, they hit 6 hours per minute, then in March 2010 they hit 24 hours per minute, followed by 35 hours in Nov 2010 and 48 hours in May 2011. And predictions are that this will continue to grow!
