    They deleted my Yahoo Group!

OMG I think they are deleteing adult groups from Yahoo now. My group has been deleted( just as I was getting tons of new members!) as well as my yahoo mail. I looked and noticed that some of my gay mens groups that I am on (cigar smoking and such) have been deleted from my other yahoo id groups as well. Has anyone noticed this as well?
This sucks I worked so hard to get that group going and it was a good group. I think it has something to do with 2257 stuff..This is scary, Mexico is looking better today!

Yahoo will delete groups is they receive complaints that there is obscene material posted there, and they will delete groups if the group owner is caught spamming.

Funny thing is that they have no appeals process at all.. one person can post and complain that you're hosting CP, and they'll delete the group without even looking at it.

If you get some queen who'd got it out for you, they can just send complaints to Yahoo, and you're toast.

nothing to do with 2257 at all.

    yet.

Jasun's right Buck. I've been using groups for different things and they (Yahoo) will just kill groups without letting you know. Normally happens because of complaints (from members or non-members), cross posting (spamming), and sending copywrited material.
You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.

Yahoo would yank groups at random.

Some were posting full sets from Maxpixels and when we complained, they deleted the groups without warning. Some had like 12,000 people

I know another amateur group with about 15,000 got deleted after some guy saw his pictures getting posted

This is the main reason I had kept our BDSM Yahoo social group's list serve as invite only.

Now that I have been forced by events to start a new group, and list it as public, I set it for moderated posts, Soft R rated pixs, and gave Mod status to all founding members. More Mods means more eyes watching what gets posted.

Anyone that has X Rated pixs on a Yahoo Group, that is listed in the Directory can pretty much figure, they are on the hit list for removal. Yahoo has just been smacked with a HUGE lawsuit, so you can bet the rent, they are going to target any group with X Rated materials.

So if you have a Yahoo group, I'd suggest you grab up all your Member's
e-mail addys to save. I wish I had started my email addy grabbing early in the week, or I'd have had yours for ya Buck, before they dumped you.

Belize sounds like a nice place to live!

    Buck . . . and others,

Check Queerit.com for hosting your groups. There are a few other places, too that are designed for the kind of groups usn's want.

I feel for you. The got our first group right after we had hit about 1500 members, and the list had not been backed up since 1000. We got back and start again, and then they catch us and delete again......it is all too much drama.

I have decided to go ahead and set up my own community site, with boards, free pics and vids, the same stuff they get in yahoo and even more. It is just so disappointing to go to log into the group and get the evil message "Group cannot be found".

Although it is a nice way to pick up a lot of contacts and a bit of free branding, although I have never been sure that the group members convert very well. But I do think they are a good market for say DVDs and such.

A woman is sueing Yahoo because her ex-boyfriend posted some nude photos along with her personal contact info on a Yahoo forum and she started getting harrassed by men who wanted to have sex with her. She tried to get Yahoo to delete the photos, but they didn't. So she sued them for $3 million.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

LOL i heard about that the other day.

The crazy thing is, she is probably going to win to.

Thats a nice chunk of change she'll be getting imho.

Thanks for all the feedback..That just sucks and I was totally shocked. I just don't understand and will not waste my time starting a new one I will check out the queerit.com thanks. I do think its a good thing to have I got lots of great feedback and stuff from that group. But I dont think many were paying members. I had no idea that was going to happen ever so I never eevn backed up my members..damn! I swear more and more everyday this is becoming a police state. Scary!!

you might feel different if you had your pic put up somewhere in public where you didn't want it, portraying you in a way that made you unhappy.

that's why people have to sign modeling releases - so that only the people who have permission can use someone's pics.

QueerIt.com aka XRatedGroups.com is not chalked up to be what Yahell! groups is like. I belong to a couple xratedgroups and uploading movie files seems to go smoothly while uploading pics in the photos section is a nightmare! There is anoter venue for groups at http://www.smartgroups.com but have not looked into them that much.

I've had 2 groups deleted by Yahell! for gaud knows what reason. Trying to get an answer or reason from them is useless, you may as well bang your head into a brick wall.

As far as group members converting into paying for something, it doen't happen that often... They are there for free porn and if they don't get it from your group they'll get it from another...
