Spam E-Mail vs. Spam Snail Mail

why is it illegal to send spam email and it is not illegal to get
a TON of marketing shit in the snail mail box ? I get so upset when
I go open my mail box and it is full of coupons and shit like that.

I'll trade you the wig catalogues that I get -- I might actually be able to use the coupons.

Coupons are the least of the "problems" I have with snail-mail spam. I've managed to cut the flow by half though.

Basically the answer to your question is: because they pay the post office big money to get their mailings through to you.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

    Indeed they do

We looked in to this a couple of years ago and even last year, the prices the USPS charges are crazy, no wonder the government doesnt mind

Or do what we do in Australia and place a sign on your letterbox that says "Addressed mail only". It works for us as well as "No Junk Mail"

We managed to cut our advertising material down to about one piece a week.

It's only AUD15c per piece delivery over here which really isn't that bad

    Cheers,

    Allan

We've got those stickers in Denmark too - and they work.
    - but I have to admit, I kind of like going through the pile on sunday
Unlike with (E-)spam you don't risk something nasty jumping out and attacking you...
