    2257 and AEBN sales tools

A lot of us use the free sales tools AEBN offers. In another thread, it was mentioned that AEBN "Free Daily Video" pasted on our sites would now be a no-no. I can understand that because it is a plug-in that appears to part of my site.

What about AEBN's other sales tool the "CSS Pop-Up Console"? If I link to it with a text link and the console "floats" over my page is it exempt?

As the console is hosted is at AEBN's website, AEBN will be responsible for the 2257 labeling and documentation on the console as a major entry point to its website. 28 CFR 75.8 (d) states "A computer site or service or Web address containing a digitally- or computer-manipulated image, digital image, or picture,
shall contain the required statement on its homepage, any known major
entry points, or principal URL (including the principal URL of a
subdomain), or in a separate window that opens upon the viewer's
    clicking a hypertext link that states, '18 U.S.C. 2257 Record-Keeping
    Requirements Compliance Statement.'''

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

I sent this thread over to Bishop so hopefully he will respond to it as the other AEBN reps seem to be having to much fun to answer genuine support requests on other boards

something that has concerned me is whether the people chosen to enforce 2257 will know how to tell the difference between plugins and our own content. around a month ago, i posted a feed on a paysite that even the webmasters here didn't notice were hosted elsewhere.

i suspect this will cause some confusion...

    Most definitely basschick!

The little window for the Free Daily Video Clip that I link to doesn't show the URL. Only the theatre window which contains the media player video clip and the link to enter theatre.

I can already guess how many problems this is going to cause!

The only company that I have dealt with so far (surprisingly) was American Express and their people were savvy enough to understand that it wasn't our website or even a part of our website and that we didn't process credit cards for any streaming video.

    Hello Everyone!

We here at AEBN are in the same boat as every other company who is up against the 2257 compliance.
This is a very HOT topic right now within our industry and I would like to say that AEBN has hired Attorneys to handle this matter as we do not have the answers and we do not know what will happen in the future.
If you are uncomfortable with the situation or have any further questions please seek legal advice.
    Thank you
