Think about it...a law that is designed to make complience impossible for 90% of the competetion...yet they have "friends" and lawyers to assure they THEY are OK.

Lee, I have to totally disagree with you on this. In any big change there are winners and losers...but to be a winner, you just have to start thinking outside the box.

I know you are working your ass off getting your 2257 docos in order and that makes you a winner, because you are going to come thru this stronger than ever and with less competition.

And if the DOJ is going after headlines and press on 2257 closures, don't you think headlines like "DOJ puts 20 million dollar illegal porn site out of business" is better than "DOJ forces another small business to close"

Actually, other than Brendons Bucks, i have yet to see any gay specific sponsor make any announcements as to how they will be handling these new regulations.

Considering there are only 5 days left until these go into full effect, i personally think that is cutting it very fine and is extremely concerning not the least from an affiliate standpoint, should i still be sending traffic to my current sponsors or do i need to switch out my ads?

You would have thought some of the bigger gay specific sponsors would have mentioned something by now :eek:

Whilst the vast majority of sponsors on the straight side of the industry have taken a pro-active approach to informing their affiliates what changes may be happening, the only place i have heard from is Brendons Bucks on the gay side of things specifically which to me, shows a lot about the type of business those guys are running, class all the way :thumbsup:

Monday evening, im actually going to start pulling links from sponsors that we havent heard of, even though the new regulations dont effect our direct 'porn' business with it being maintained outside the US, id prefer to know that the content being used on those sites is compliant should the need ever arise to prove it.

Id rather not be kept in the dark about an issue as important as this, especially when it means *I* could end up doing jail time.

Because even though our 'porn' stuff is in Europe, GWW isnt and, despite the fact we are covered by the 'advertising and media' clause of the current 2257 regs, id rather play it safer than sorrier.

Just because a model 'looks' 18 years old, it doesnt mean that they ARE 18 years old.

I haven't waited. I took care of business a long time ago, and aside from getting legal advice from multiple attorneys, both here and in the U.S., my content has always been 2257 compliant since I started.

Being that I'm overseas, AND have 100% 2257 compliant content, I'm secure in my safety and that of my affiliates. I have some G rated banners, and more are on their way ( right Bec? )

I've had one affiliate ask for 2257 info. Others are either overseas, or feel as I do regarding this issue, that the new regs. are unconstitutional and will be shot down as quickly as Gonzales copied and pasted from the last regs that were shot down. :thumbsup:

Well I know CUrious Cash did mention it in their last newsletter... but yes it is interesting how silent many of the sponsors have been. Brendon Bucks was definately a heads up. ARS did send out something though I don't use them anymore... but there hasn't been much else...

Definately cutting it close.

I recieved e-mail from PrideBucks Sunday evening (I think) that stated they were now in compliance with 2257. Their statement is now also in the webmaster area there.

I've closed down my site temporarily untill the storm blows over and we see which way the wind is gonna blow. Wasn't much on the site anyway except links to my sponsors. So now when anyone enters the main page they will get a "closed" notice with a link going to PrideBucks sponsor site. Hopefully that will C.M.A.! (I really need to find a tacky picture to put on that page! :gaydays: )
