Video clip help

help peeps - whats the best way (and quickest) to get a large video file and then have it created into small clips (30 mins to say 15 x 2 min clips)

I manually do start and end points at ever 2 mins then save each slice up. I'll keep this on my favorites in case someone has a better way.

I use a simple little AVI/MPEG/WMV/ASF splitter from www.boilsoft.com

The program looks good, the only problem I have is there is no conversion for QuickTime. What do you guys use for converting Quicktime files?

...a little of topic...but do you guys think it's necessary anymore (with the widespread availability of high-speed connections) to split a 30 min clip down any further? Don't surfers prefer to see the entire clip in one go? Maybe it's just me, but i prefer to download an entire clip to my comp before i view it, even if it takes 30mins to do it.

I split my clips to show a chapter each week to my members on a particular film - and 35% of my members are still on dial up - sites can offer the full clip and short chapters aswell if they are letting their members download the lot in one go. This would allow for people who are not on a good connection to get bits of a film as and when they can ?

We do, although our customers are much happier now that we stream full length movies to them. the video clips are really just there for show now.

our stats showed that as many people watched the clips as the full videos, and 25% used the dialup clips. also some guys don't want to wait through the entire video - they want to get right to the cumshot

Hope can help you...

You can join and split Quicktime directly within the quicktime-player. But you need the professional one, not the free one. It is a bit a tedious work and you cannot work very accurately (buttons are so small).

An other way is the http://www.movietoolbox.com/ - software. The movie splitter does not support .mov but there is a converter that does and the joiner supports .mov as well.
