    Lee.....thanks for the highlight!

Was planning to post this here today, but our press release got out before I had a chance to do so (maybe it was leaked by Karl Rove :shifty: )

In any case, although our site -- AsianBoyNation -- and our affiliate program -- BoyNationCash -- have been up since April, I wanted to wait to launch a press release until we had some solid stats and a good affiliate base.

We now have both of those and with companies like Gay.com who have been delighted with the conversions for them, and the recent addition of JustUsBoys, our reputation is starting to get out there!

In any case, here is the full release -- please let me know if any of you have any questions. We would love to work with you and will be at Internext for in person meetings.

    Best,

ADULT VETERANS LAUNCH PREMIER GAY ASIAN SITE

SAN FRANCISCO– July 8, 2005 – Guys who love Asian men have a new premier destination on the web: Asian Boy Nation (www.AsianBoyNation.com).

The site features high-quality, high-resolution photos and video of toned and muscular young Asian men from all over the continent – China, Japan, Thailand, India, Vietnam, the Philippines and more. Asian Boy Nation is packaged in a slick, professional design that offers a deep preview that mirrors the extensive member content.

The site has more than 600 video clips and over 2,000 photos online, with new video, photos, and erotic stories added multiple times each week.

Members also have access to thousands of video-on-demand movies through a partnership with AEBN as well as access to a customized adult store built by Gamelink with over 80,000 products available.

The site’s models range from amateur twinks to Asian superstar Brandon Lee. Images are easy to navigate in gallery, scrolling thumbnail or slideshow formats and have links to high-resolution photos. The video is available for both low and high-speed connections in two popular formats.

The site was developed by adult marketing expert Laurence Nathanson and adult webmaster and porn star Andy Dill, partners in Imagi-Nation Media Inc.

“Asian Boy Nation reflects our experience in and understanding of the gay market and especially the Asian niche,” says Nathanson, who lived in Tokyo Japan for over seven years. “We’ve spent a lot of time developing and fine-tuning this site to make sure it hit the bottom line: converting traffic into paying members.”

But Nathanson says the goal is more than sign-ups. His aim for the site is to expand the breadth of available Asian content and showcase types of Asian men that are not currently available on other Asian gay sites.

“Plenty of sites can deliver decent conversions but members find there’s no depth inside and they don’t stick around,” says Nathanson. “We’re matching great marketing with a great product that includes ‘sticky features’ to ensure high retention and more money for our BoyNationCash affiliates.”

BoyNationCash (www.BoyNationCash.com) was launched in conjunction with the Asian Boy Nation web site and provides other webmasters with a lucrative rev-share and webmaster referral program.

As a very large online presence in the gay asian internet marketplace since 1997, let me say .... Congratulations! Welcome to the gay asian market place. Welcome to your new site, Asian Boy Nation...we welcome the competition.

Aside from the content you licensed (and I shot) from Ounique and Maxpixels (shot by DannyZ).. as well as what you bought from WWC from Birlynn Studios, i notice you have some current content that you used, and in that usage there were some things that i found troubling.

    1. you named the name of a go go bar in bangkok. I would ask that you refrain from naming go go boy bars, (as you are presently doing in your members area), in Thailand or any other asian country for that matter. Doing so puts these boys at risk, as well as those of us that are here in Asia shooting content... it is illegal to shoot porn in Asian countries..and when police here get tip offs that boys are being cast for video work out of certain bars, they come down hard on the bars... fines, closures, and disgrace for the boys...
Now, I am not sure if you know or not, but the boy bar you mention in your update recently in Bangkok, is a real bar... and I am not sure if the boy you have in your site is actually from that bar, but it is not a good thing to advertise that.....for the bar or the boy.

    2. I would ask that you not name real names of photographers in asian countries even if only part of the name is true....and even if it is a foreigner, or if part of the name is incorrect, it will cause lots of problems for them. Most photographers of asian gay content prefer to use pseudonyms for safety and security and immigration reasons... I trust that your mentions of these photographers in your members area are only pseudonyms.....

    3. You might offend some of your asian customers by referring to getting boys in go go bars in Thailand like "shooting fish in a barrel." As you know from your stated 7 year history in Japan, Asian boys are all about face (reputation, honor)...and how they are perceived is very important to them. I would ask that you consider changing this wording to something more dignified for the boys.

    4. I also hope, and I am sure you already do this, that the names you use for the boys is not their real names...in any form, or even close to them.

Thanks Lawrence, and i wish you luck in your new venture.

    Respectfully written.

    Hi Lawrence,

First of all, let me personally welcome you to the gay Asian marketplace as well.

This is a very small niche, and I can totally understand Tom's concerns and protectiveness of it. It's not just a matter of money for us, but also a matter of love. We really care about protecting our models, care about producing quality content, and care about the safety and security of everyone involved in what we do. As we've posted in previous threads, shooting porn is illegal in Asia...especially Thailand...so it does seem irresponsible if you are in fact naming photographers, bars and boys....that makes it more dangerous for us all.

Also, I think it may be a bit of 'stepping on toes' to be a new site and say you are the 'best gay Asian site' as you do in your signature. You may want to reconsider that.

Finally, I could not help but notice that your site looks quite similar to the tour of our site, www.gayasianams.com. I'm not sure if that was intentional, and if it was, well, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

I hope you don't think I'm coming off as nasty. I think Tom and I, although competitors, share the common goal of wanting to keep ourselves and the gay Asian niche protected.

Thanks Tom and Danny for your helpful comments. I guess all of us in this industry are constantly learning as we try to create excellent products and good value for consumers.

We’ve made a few changes based on some of your suggestions. I will say I got a chuckle out of your concerns about naming photographers or giving details about the models. Porn is after all, about the fantasy and that’s just what the stories are. The names and other details are part of our creative process. Like you we have an appreciation and respect for all of our models and photographers and would never do anything to jeopardize their safety or “face.”

And Danny, your site looks great but I can assure you we designed our site from scratch. Any similarity is purely coincidental.

With our site off the ground and running, we have already started producing original content and look forward to healthy competition ahead.

    Best,

    BoyNation

    Hey Laurence,

Nice site. Welome to the niche. It is a relatively small but loyal niche

I echoed the concerns of Tom and Danny but you seem to have answered them, althought he references to Jupiter I saw in the tour are a very real bar.

I have been in asia for serveral years now, and fine the key to operating safely is to have a set of reliable locals, which is not as easy as it used to be. Police offer rewards to bar owners and mamasans alike to turn in westerners that want to film.

Where are you located? I think I would plan on spending a lot of time in Asia if I were you,

    Laurence,

Thanks for the compliments on our sites. I look forward to see where your site goes as well, I'm always happy to see new photos and videos made of hot Asian guys! Although the niche is small as CJ points out, there is certainly room for new sites with original content and ideas.

The key to this niche is really all about exclusive content. The Maxpixels and Ounique content is unfortunately totally recycled now, and most fans of the gay Asian niche will catch that pretty quickly (since there is not much out there for our niche, we notice the old stuff right away). There have been a lot of gay Asian sites over the years that have come and gone, mainly because they soon realize how difficult it is to sell the niche without it.

As for the healthy competition, I totally agree with you there. It does help to keep us all on our toes and make sure we do all we can to keep our members happy. That's why we live in Asia fulltime and have only exclusive content on our sites...gayasianams now has over 100,000 exclusive photos and literally thousands of exclusive video clips, and we add more every week. It's a 'hard' job, but worth it if you are as big of rice queens as we are, LOL!

    Cheers

    Hi,

I just received this private message from a fellow member of the board:

Hi, A few days ago I tried signing up for your affiliate program. Unfortunately I can't login to get links, banners, etc...
I just wanted to let anyone who has had a similar problem know that we are currently redesigning our Affiliate Program members area and working on getting some new stat programs before we begin the next phase of our big marketing push. We have spent the last year just concentrating on content, testing everything on our sites to ensure top conversions and ensuring the best retention humanly possible. If it's okay with Lee, we'll do a big announcement once the that is fully ready.

In the interim, we do already have some affiliates making great amounts of money promoting the sites. Just send us an email at admin@japanboyz.com and I'll get you signed up with your linking code, links to hundreds of free hosted galleries, banners and whatever else you need. :-)

    Cheers

    etc...

This thread is about Lawrence launching his new site DannyZ ... it would be more appropriate to start a different thread to address any issues or comments you wish to make about YOUR site than to bring them in on his parade so to speak.

    Hi Bec,

Thank you for your input. I did not at all intend to rain on his parade, I was just responding to a message from another board member in response to a message that person sent in regards to this post, so naturally I just went back to the same thread...without even thinking that it could be seen that way.

I can now see how it may appear in the wrong light that I am trying to rain in on his parade, but I can assure you that is not the case. My business partner has already been talking with Laurence and we are more then happy to have him a part of the community and sincerely wish him all the best for his site.

    Cheers,
    Dan
