    Setting Folder Permissions in FTP ?

    Dear Members,

    i have a shared hosting account and well my backend database person is trying to configure something but check this out..

    if you go to http://www.midwestmale.com/ankit/testfile.aspx it dont work

    but if you go to http://www.midwestmale.com/testfile.aspx it works...

    whats the easy way to setup the permissions (with a server that has frontpage extentions installed and is on a windows/asp platform.

    Got it Fixed had to un-install frontpage components in the server and set the files and permissions..

    I always recommend staying away from frontpage extensions, they are extremely picky and can fall over for no reason at all. Plus they add a lot of overhead to your pages, not only bandwidth wise but also processing power on the server. And there really is no reason to use them since all frontpage functions can easily be done with free php or cgi scripts.
