Okay, so apparently 20/20 or someone did a scathing expose on the porn industry, obviously making us all look like child molesters and spammers. So my mom gets on the phone and says, "how's your job going?" and I told here all was going well. Then she says in a very sly voice "what is it that you actually do again?". I replied, "internet... stuff" (which is usually an adequate answer for the woman who's never turned a computer on, let alone surfed the net or actually had to deal with porn spam). Then she goes, "you're not... you're not working in PORNOGRAPHY!!! ...are you?". I almost pissed myself, trying really hard not to laugh.

LOL Don! What did you tell her? My family knows what I do and their perfectly cool with it. They even got involved with some of it when I did video distribution. (They reviewed the str8 movies for me.)

I simply told her that she had nothing to worry about and that we should change the subject. LOL! My mom couldn't handle the fact that I had an earring when I was in college and that led to a 15 year fight. They're better off left in the dark.

When I applied for my first job in the biz, I told my parents that I might be moving out of state to go to work for a company doing web design. They would have freaked the hell out had I told them that I was going to work as an editor for a porn producer... So I waited to tell my mom until after I had gotten the job and been assured that my moving expenses would be paid. And even then I only told my mom. The only thing she said was "PLEASE tell me that you won't be in FRONT of the camera!?!?" After that she was fine. After three years, I thought my dad had figured it out but I guess my mom is better at keeping secrets than I thought. Fortunatly I was working on a straight project when I told him and his response was "I want to see them when your finished."

my dad wanted to come and fuck anything that walks for porn once he learned. But he doesn't speak english so that didn't go anywhere, thankfully
