    Giving Away Traffic

Just surfing through some adult sites looking at what others are doing...etc etc...and i noticed that the age old practice of having a "NO" or "EXIT" link on an adult warning page being linked to a search engine is still going on. It used to be everyone gave all their clicked exit traffic on these pages to Yahoo, or Disney, but now I also see Google being given traffic......

Wonder why, in the day of PPC and Adwords, people aren't linking these to revenue generation links that search engines have now instead of just giving them the traffic....

Hmmm....just my middle of the night musings.....

i believe google gives you a higher ranking if you have their link on your page. i could be wrong, though - just what i've been told.

I'm constantly telling people to stop that, and either not put an exit or make a full page ad on a non porn sounding domain for something like the software offered by several companies, such as topbucks for instance, and send their traffic there.

For those sites where I do have an "exit" button or link I link to my little canadian search engine. I see no reason to give google or yahoo my traffic unless they're paying me for it.

    It's all academic anyway.
Nobody (except their creators) have ever clicked those "exit" / "Leave" buttons, nobody!
