How NOT to sell a domain name

About two months ago I heard that another website in my niche might be closing. The site had a lousy name with lots of pirated content and nothing more to recommend it, but thought it might be worth buying for the traffic. I sent the guy a message and he came back with a price that was way too much, then said he might not sell it right away, he was talking to some other people, he'd get back to me, etc.

I recently checked the site and, because of 2257, he has taken down all the content. So the site went from a PR4 to PR2 and its Alexa rank went from 1,930 to 2,035,000. I imagine he still thinks he's sitting on a gold mine.

LOL -- I've seen the same thing happen in real real estate properties... Err less the PR deductions natch.
