    Porn Friendly Banks

I switched to Wells Fargo but I hate all their fees for every single thing. I was thinking maybe US Bank but I am not sure if they are porn friendly. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Mark

i suggest that you talk to the bank manager at the bank you are considering, and be very frank about your business. wells fargo was very welcoming to two businesses who lost their b of a accounts, and those businesses explained exactly what they did and that it was legal.

We bank with BofA, who until about the last year or so has been fabulous... but within the last year, they've centralized practically everything... you can rarely get to anyone who has any actual authority to fix anything, just to minions in a call center... so the level of service has really gone in the shitter.

AJ's family banks with Wells Fargo and I'd suggest that you go in and talk to the branch manager... Wells is *extremely* service oriented to customers that are worth having, and business customers are typically very profitable for banks, so my guess is that if you discuss what you're doing and your concerns about the fees, you may find that they can waive most or all of the fees in question. They definitely have the ability to do so for customers that they want to keep.

Also, Wells apparently is much more capable than BofA of providing personalized banking services for business and high-dollar individual accountholders, so bringing their attention to your needs may pay off not just in terms of reduced fees, but also in terms of better services (small perks, etc.)

I agree with basschick - talk to the local manager(s).

BofA closed our account recently - they didn't say it was because of porn, but they hinted it. However, lots of other porn companies bank with them.

A good relationship with the local guy (or gal) seems to be what matters. We were fine until they restructured and a new guy took over.

My question is how would BofA ever know that a company is involved in porn? I was discussing this with AJ, and both of us were trying to imagine how BofA would ever know what business we're in... unless they happen to know the names of some of the affiliate programs or whatever, I don't see how they'd figure it out... how has this happened to others?

You don't have a "personal banker" at BOA?
I do..and he's great! Not to mention a 25 year old hottie to boot!

Maybe everyone at BOA has a "pb", but some may not be as good as others. If you don't like the one you got, ask for a different one. Believe me, banks LIKE your money and sure don't want to lose you if you have a significant amount invested in their bank.

I know basschick talked about a California boa closing someone's account over porn..and now your situation. What reason DID they give for closing it out of curiosity? I've had ZERO problems with BOA and they've been very helpful literally busting their buns to get me the best rate on a mortgage for a house I bought recently (from my "ill gotten gains" at that! ).

Slade - silvercash and hawgscash were both closed by b of a, as well as several smaller companies i know. most were given the reason that b of a did not wish to be affiliated with this type of business.

I'm gonna echo some of what Chip (BoyFunk) said. We recently closed our BofA accts and moved to a different bank. It wasn't because they shut us out or anything, but service issues progressed to the point we decided we cared not to bank with them anymore. Things got difficult - their losing records on who was authorized to do what with the account, whose names (the company's partners) were on the account, our ability to transfer funds and deposit/withdraw. All kinds of things. Who knows what happens... it's as if our local BofA branch just went to shit or something. All of a sudden they were incapable of doing anything and it's as if they didn't even know who we were. Not with respect to providing us any kind of special service, but literally as if they'd lost all our information, records, etc. Not a very reassuring thing to have happen with your bank.

I know everyone has different experiences and so what happened to us certainly was a unique experience but... that's where I'm comin' from hehe.

Maybe I'm just spoiled, doing my personal banking with credit unions who all seem like they want nothing more than to have me as a member and haven't charged me a fee for anything in as long as I can remember.

    Bank Selections

I have to agree with many of the posts regarding banks, I use to work in a bank in my previous life (before adult videos) and I worked for a local bank and found that small local banks will welcome our business, the disadvantage to belonging to a small community bank is that when you travel out of town, you only have access to ATM's from other banks and you have to pay those ATM fee's but the benefit by using a small community bank is that you get great customer service and many times if you build a great relationship with your "personal banker" they will waive many fee's and give your great service.

Good luck with your banking issue......
