this is primarily done as a deturrent to the general public which likes to snag images for nothing and pass them around like "trading-cards" thus depreciating it's exclusiveness to you are serious customer.
as a photographer you won't get anywhere near my images without identification.

p.s ~ if "spam" is the issue with you try using a "temporary" ( hotmail/etc. ) account as a way of recieving passwords/etc. to enter image sites and/or email the site directly but keep in mind they will probably ask you for the same information requested by the site login.
