Straight isn't a bad word. One of my biz partners is straight and he's a sweetie pie (actually he wouldn't like being called that :-). The problem is not Straight/Gay it's that Adult Entertainment has been seen by those on the outside as a place for a quick buck to be earned - and it was many yeras ago. Unfortunately those days are long gone (glad I had the chance to enjoy them) but the vortex created by the "get rich quick" fantasy is still swirling like the bottom of a flushed toilet and pulling in with it the most common, low hanging branch of society's lazy losers. Instead of "sealing" driveways with cheap and useless grease and collecting a few hundred bucks from scared seniors, they're now porntrepreneurs. I've run into way too many in the last couple of years. And there's plenty of gay ones around too - some created by not being able to keep up with all the competition today and just hanging on to the last threads of their reputation from the old days, and I can name him -er, I mean them. The only difference is that we as gay webmasters shouldn't be surprised that some of this new, ignorant, straight contingent is using us as an outlet for their failure and frustrations. Most straight guys who have been around for a while in this biz are very tolerant and think of us as their allies, not their enemies. I say we ignore those shitheads, end this thread and go on with more constructive posts.

Great post, I agree 100% with you, and of course I have dozens of straight friends and people I do business with too. That's why I said 'some' of those people...just sad that such ignorant and hateful people still exist in this day and age.

Let's be honest... Lee has had his fair share of public drama outside the cocoon of GWW. I can only guess the reason is because he does a lot of business with new people. Our industry is just like any other and you can run into trouble working with people you don't know. It's live and learn.
This isn't a Gay vs straight issue. This is a decent people vs. trash issue IMHO.
And while we're being honest, I've read those other threads on the other boards and like Dannyz posted... many responses involve really mean Gay slurs and insults not just to Lee, but the whole Gay community. It's done for sport. The kind of people that make those statements, or condone others making them on their boards, can seriously fuck off. It's not just the Gay community either.. many people of color are verbally assaulted on those boards.
I did a search on the biggest board and returned over 500 results ( the maximum number of results ) for the term "******" over 500 results for " fag " & "faggot" over 100 results for "chink" over 500 result of " homo " the list goes on.
I've never worked with Lee, and I'm surely not standing up for him as he defends himself very well, but I totally understand exactly where he's coming from in his frustration and rebellious ways.
Lee has admitted publicly, many times, to not paying two different design companies, it's not a secret. Others have said they wouldn't pay after getting what they thought was a bad design. I personally would have paid, then not used them again, and not given them a good referral, but Lee isn't me. Even if he did steal the Oprano database, you have to wonder, with the way they condone people in our community being treated there, maybe they got what they deserved?

If I only read Oprano or GFY, i'd get the impression that over half of adult webmasters are complete idiots with no life outside of message boards, and some serious mental problems. I'm at a point now where good business contacts would mean a lot to me, but I'm almost not willing to read through all that immature garbage to find the decent people.
Lucky for me, here it is easy, because about 95% of posters here are good people.
I don't give a shit what Lee does on other boards, and the people who live for witch hunts on those boards need to realize they are showing the rest of us who the real scumbags are...

Well, I think this illustrates why I had given up on boards til someone turned me onto GWW. It is assholes like Brandon that really make you want to just stay away from boards. I thought the drama on gfy was hot, Oprano sounds like the modern Days of Our Lives soap opera.
It always amazes me how many people will be real nice when they want something from us, and then be bashing when it is done. I also thought there was a minimum age requirement to work in porn. That whole thing rings of passing notes back and forth in 7th grade science class.
And I wonder how someone can have in excess of 18K posts on a board and still have time to work. Not sure if he is one of them, but I hear so many people whine about not making any money yet they appear in every post and thread you come across. I wonder why they just dont work........
Anyway, I certainly wouldnt lose much sleep over it. And that is all this "pinkie" has to say, except GoFuckYourself seems to an appropriate direction to send him in.
