question for those that use Mozilla....

For some reason, I started my mozilla browser today and it said I need to create a new profile. I tried to load the one I always use but I got the error "profile already in use". I was forced to create a new profile, but now I dont have my bookmarks, passwords saved etc...

How the hell do I go back to my previous profile with all the info? I have searched mozilla and the forums. I even went to "my computer" to see if I could find the profiles manually... no luck

    Anyone have some insite?

The only times I've had this happen are when the browser crashes and/or part of the program remains in memory for some reason.

Shutting down the program manually in ctrl-alt-del (what we geeks call the Three Fingered Salute) usually does the trick for moi.

I tried it, didn't work. Now I wish I would have backed up my puter.

Have you considered restoring the system to a date before the crash?

Probably a dumb question, but rebooting the computer didn't solve the "in use" problem? Wow, something done be messed up. :mental:

    To the Rescue ...

Yes, this is a pesky problem. Drove me nuts one night.

Go here, it'll describe the symptom and the fix:

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in...iginal_profile

and this page tells you where the profile folder is located:

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_fo...0_and_XP_users

    Cheers
