Other Than Using Banners What Other Methods Have Given You Success On Your Sites?

Lets try getting some ideas together in this thread to see how we can promote our sponsors sites other than using the graphical ads that they provide to us.

Have you used any marketing techniques that didnt utilize sponsors banners and buttons on your sites that gave you some success in the sales department?

The most obvious method after banners would be using regular text links but im thinking that there are probably some better ways of marketing our affiliate progams sites than that.

So what have you folks done that is different when it comes to marketing your sponsor programs paysites that actually worked?

Well I use their free content and find one that is enticing, crop it and sometimes alter it to look different, like make it a circle or sepia colour or something and add text to make it like the guy is talking to the surfer, drop it along the side with linking it to either a full gallery or directly to their sign up page.

Other things I am trying is to crop specific features, use some text to entice them, then drop it in a corner of down a side. I also add personal stuff to make it feel more conversational between the image and the surfer.

I find it works really well to write a full and balanced review of the site. The main thing is don't make the review sound spammy, just write an honest review that tells them all about the site and chances are the users will trust you and sign up much quicker then if you just send them to a random text link or banner ad.
