    FBI recruiting for "Porn Squad"

Apparently the FBI is planning to assign 8 agents specifically to obscenity. Not child porn, mind you, obscenity. Many of the agents are disgusted.

    I loved this part:

"Federal obscenity prosecutions, which have been out of style since Attorney General Edwin Meese III in the Reagan administration made pornography a signature issue in the 1980s, do "encounter many legal issues, including First Amendment claims," the FBI headquarters memo noted."

I feel the most if not all FBI agents know this is crazy. What people do in there own bedrooms is up to two adults and not them.

Two interesting excerpts from this article:

This seems to at least point to a direction they intend to take and should serve as a warning shot to any of us the produce/distribute this type of erotica.....i know many people steer away from most, but looks like bondage might be under the watchful eye of big brother....

Public corruption, officially, is fourth on the FBI's priority list, after protecting the United States from terrorist attack, foreign espionage and cyber-based attacks. Just below those priorities are civil rights, organized crime, white-collar crime and "significant violent crime." The guidance from headquarters does not mention where pornography fits in.
I think it is interesting that prosecuting pornography finds such a high priority...right up there with Civil rights violations, organized crime, white collar crime, and "significant violent crime".

I find it ironic that the people, in case after case, decide in favor of free speech. Judges continuously rule in favor of free speech. Yet, taxpayers money is going toward agents whos single directive, from the top, will be to find cases where they can set free speech back?

I find it funny watching Gonzales and Bush falling over themselves to make church people happy by pulling agents off important cases where the law HAS been broken, to try and set free speeh back. If I was an agent I'd be pissed that people in my position were being used to work against the constitution instead of really helping society.

If something that's legal doesn't sell, people will stop creating it. It's pretty simple. I don't see the big deal. AND if a communities standards were against the content, people in the community wouldn't be buying it, right? :francais:

    I liked this part

A few of the printable samples:

"Things I Don't Want On My Résumé, Volume Four."

    "I already gave at home."

"Honestly, most of the guys would have to recuse themselves."

LOL ok, so now I want to know what they won't print ! :extat:
and I'm wondering if that was rescue? or re-use themselves?:2ymca:
