Ah well, shit happens when you push the limits.
Same thing happened to the Sweets in Canada, they kept trying to push the limits of obscenity, that made them a target.
Im not even going to get in to what the MaxHardcore crew were doing in the hot-tubs at the Diplomat a couple of years ago all ill say is the fluid in the hot-tub after a while definately wasnt water

I know Max. Not extremly well but I do know him.
Personally I can't figure out the appeal to his product but thats not really my concern.
Between complaints of "Freedom of Speach" and conversations about morality, obscenity, etc.
All I can say is that being a pornographer is about 1 thing.
Money!
And you can be a smart pornographer or a dumb one. If you are going to be in the jizz biz you got to understand the nature of the beast.
1. This is not a prestigious career.
2. People can live without your product but they can't live without Hollywood
3. No matter how much money you spend, how good your movie is, how great looking the actors are - No one will camp out all night to be the first in line to buy it.
4. You need law enforcement to "Stir things up" every so often. It keeps our product slightly tabou. And keeps the "johny-come-latelys" out of our industry, who only flood the market with tons of low-end crap that drives everyone's prices down.
5. The best talent will always be either slightly screwy, broke or abnoxious. Regardless of how professional they may appear.
6. 95% of the people directly employed in this industry will have an ego larger than Russel Crowe winning an Oscar.
All things considered equal:
My opinion is the smart pornographer creates his product outside of the United States or country he lives in and mails it into the US. That way you can push the envelope all you want. And you don't have to deal with the most of the above bullshit.
that's their 2nd raid. I guess govt holds to the mantra if you dont succeed try and try again.
LOL! So fucking true. God, it makes working in this business hard!Originally Posted by Hamilton Steele

But you do have a point. It does appear that American laws are now INTERNATIONAL LAWS.
Looks like the Feds gave back the servers and his site is back up again. His lawyer appears to have negotiated a deal where the Feds were allowed to mirror his server hard drives and take them with them for investigation. His Lawyer, Jeffrey Douglas says that it could take up to a year to indict him on these charges.
they also siezed 5 videos that were the subject of the investigation and the associated 2257 documents. Even though he is a member of FSC they are allowed to bring 2257 charges when it is relevant to an ongoing investigation....so there appears to be a loophole in the 2257 deal with the FSC.... we won't inspect you ..... unless you are under investigation for obscenity....,
Here's the news link on this update

Well it took a while but it looks like the Feds have just indicted the guy...

Reading through the indictment, it looks like they got him for watersports, fisting and abuse content, which i have always said has been a grey area when it comes to 'obscenity'.
Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
It also looks like Epoch is the processor for these sites, im wondering if their distributor could also be subject to presecution for distributing obscene materials too?

Welcome to the era of boring vanilla porn. And Lee, you reveling in it just makes it that much worse.
I don't see anything wrong with a little pee and fisting amongst consenting adults. What will a companies like Titan do now? Pissing and fisting are very common in their videos and they aren't even considered an 'extreme' porn studio by gay porn standards.
Im not reveling in anything, just stating fact, when others have said i was talking outta my ass.
So far, every obscenity investigation or indictment over the last 5-6 years relating to 'obscenity' has been related to watersports, fisting and abuse content... Thats a cold hard fact.
Max Hardcore is basically fucked, he sent physical product to an area of the country he shouldnt have, thats why we have lists of friendly/unfriendly zip codes that most reputable companies utilize before sending DVDs out in the mail, especially to a PO Box.
It sucks it had to happen like this but the likelyhood is, Max Hardcore as a company is going to be out of business very soon because of something so simple as not checking a zip code list
Incidently, check your ICQ Jim... Your opinion on the content in question may change once you do

Lee
