what do you prefer - pics or video?

over the last couple years, video has overtaken pics for a lot of surfers. but how about webmasters? do you prefer pics or videos personally? how about professionally?

personally i prefer pics. you can catch a perfect moment in a pic, when the person or people are at their absolute sexiest. on the other hand, ya can't hear a pic

pictures are great when it's just a single model, but when you get into action scenes video is king, there is just something about pictures that there will continue to be a demand for them. nothing like a sexy picture of someone. :twink: also.. this may just be me, but i think pictures of an action scene never really turn out, not many i've seen look good (porn addict since 1997)

I agree... if you have a solo model, then PIX are great, but if you have action then CLIPS rule.

I have to say im more of a pic fan myself.

I realize that video does have a place for many however, if asked if id prefer to make $1000 using pic content or $1000 using movie content, id go with the images every time, for one, bandwidth usage will be much lower, pics are a LOT easier to manipulate than video also.

I guess ultimately it comes down to the context that the content is being used in, for example, in a members area of a paysite there should be movies available imho for other types of sites, if a surfer wants to watch a movie, buy a membership to one of my sponsors, thats ultimately what we're here to do, sell stuff. If we continue giving this stuff away to surfers as they demand it, we'll no longer be able to sell the stuff.

More of a pic man myself, and depending on the photographer, there can be some very good detailed action shots that a video just can't deliver... friend of mine is one of those and his photo shoot of a guy cumming was unbelievable.. drop by drop, but then he is a camera nut and has all the right gear too... :signhere:

I prefer pics on the site as they are more suited to creating a fantasy effect if displayed right, along with good quality text to tease along and as Lee said, heck of a lot cheaper, in some respects.

I like both, but I prefer video. For the pics, it depends on the photographers. If they are very good at capturing the sexest part of the body, but not very very explicit, that would be wonderful, otherwise I will go for video.

as a surfer, when i go into a paysite the first link i always click is video.
Once in a while ill look around the pics, but i almost always stay in the video area.

As a webmaster I do both pics and videos, they both have their plusses and minuses.

Good comments so far, pretty much exactly what I was going to say! Pics are way better for manipulating and they work way better for me for marketing, whereas videos are good for members areas.

I decided on pics because of the quality of video out lately.

I am a 70's porn kinda guy - I love the stories, music and the events leading up to the act, but the stuff that is out now is not very entertaining, in my pants... uh, undies... damn, eyes.

Of course I have yet to see Pirates (?).
I am not a 4-hour-compilation-of-hardcore-fuck-scenes person.

I'm a video and erotic fiction fan myself, but pics can occasionally be hot. You guys should take a look at Chi Chi LaRue's new book, Warning, which takes a very different approach to porn photography. It's much more artistic than anything that's been done before. In fact, it's strangely familiar to an idea for a book that I've been working on...

Captures (for us) serve two-purposes:

- dial-up/low bandwidth users can view the images before wasting time downloading/streaming a video that they are not truly interested in. Heh, saves us bandwidth as well.
- bonus content: if the vob or DVD is awesome quality and, so are the captures, typically.

Clicks show the members like them, a lot!
