    Tattoos

Well surprise surprise, the man who threatened to shove a chair up my ass if I ever got a tattoo has gotten one himself.

My dad showed it to me yesterday. Its so cool and touching. Its the patch that the SAC(Stratigic Air Command) division of the Air Force (no longer in existance) wore on their uniforms. My grandfather was in that division and he died around the time I was 10 from a massive heart attack.

Now my mom is going to get one at Thanksgiving and I may finally get the nerve up to get my own with her. Mine is the symbol fo Scorpio (an M with an arrow curved up at the end) with the old planetary symbol for Pluto hanging off of it. I want to get it about 3 inches below my hip bone on my thigh.

    Tattoo stories anyone?

LOL! Parents -- they're so much more fun and nice after all their kids are grown up and moved out.

No tattoo stories from me unfortunately.

I have several, but my favorite one is the one of my name in Chinese on my left forearm. It's now become my "brand." I put it on my business card, and it's on my web site.

I have an artist friend who does these wonderful paintings for her friends based on a single word of their choosing. I asked her if she would design my first tattoo instead and the word would be "rebirth". I wanted to celebrate my moving to LA and starting a whole new life for myself. She came up with a wonderful design but I didn't have the extra money to get it done for the longest time. Then she decided to have a friend of hers fly to LA to do a new tattoo for her because she liked his work so much, so she sent him a ticket. I finally had a little extra cash and decided it was time, so I asked her to ask him if he wouldn't mind doing mine while he was here. As it turns out, he made plans to do tatts around the LA area while he was here, so he told her that since he was going to be doing so well on this trip (that he didn't even have to pay for), he would do mine for free. He did an amazing job and I gave him a really nice tip anyway. But what a nice thing to do. So not only did I get my first tattoo but it comes with a great story.
