if you're looking for affiliates, perhaps you could hire a reasonably priced designer to make a new tour. this one is TINY in 800x600 - in the now more-common resolutions, it's postage-stamp sized.

you can also buy traffic through google adwords. i love their traffic you can buy gallery traffic through askjolene.com and chickentraffic.com as well as from buygaytraffic.

you can post galleries that use your site as a sponsor. there is a lot of fast traffic from gallery posting IF you know what you're doing. you can also make free sites and submit them to link lists, make avs sites to get the avs traffic to your site. you can make pages designed to get search engine hits to your site or you can trade traffic with other sites, either by link page or by creating a toplist or other trade page designed to send hits to your site.

here is a sample of one of my galleries:
    http://www.sexypicslist.com/ar/black073005/index0.html

i made copies of this page with 3 recip links from tgps on each page, and posted the gallery to tgps. please DO NOT copy my gallery layout. rather create your own layout with 15 - 20 pics. go to www.cand.com to see lots of different gallery layouts to get ideas.

Please take my content off your site.

You are violating my copyright and do not have permission to use my content for your subscription site.

You have content on your site that belongs to other GWW members. Do you think they'll appreciate you trying to make $39.99 a month, $12.99 for 3 day trial, off their content they worked so hard to create?

You are violating CCBills terms of service by using content that does not belong to you, and has not been licensed to you.

I'm always amazed when people open a paysite before they know anything about being an adult webmaster. Is this a turnkey site of some kind?

Basschick gives some excellent advice. But before I would throw too much traffic at the tour, I would completely redesign it. Follow basschick's advice and make it bigger. If you have a small monitor and it looks fine, go to a friend's house and see how it looks on a 19" monitor.

And as this is a hook-up site, I would probably drop the whole 'next page' type tour. Most successful hook-up sites give you free-but-limited access. They only charge you for unlimited or premium services. The sales pitch is much more subtle than "next, next, next, JOIN".

Btw, for a site that professes to have user submitted pics, the models look exceptionally professional. You do have the licenses to use that content, don't you?

This jackass not only stole everyone's content, he's also stealing other people's banner ads for use in promoting his own site.

Out of respect for the members of this board that he stole from, including Squirt and others whose content has been stolen, this guy more than deserves a banning.

    amen!

maybe before you need traffic, you should try buying content legally like the rest of us do.

    Thanks for the replies

I have recently purchased this site, i have already removed some of the copyrighted material that was on this site, and still in the process of removing material, and replacing with fresh liscensed material, that I buy, or that memebers have sent in of themselves.

Sure hope you did not pay too much for the site, because you got screwed if he told you it included the content.

Seems you are going to have to do a bit more investing in licensed content first, in addition to redoing the tour before you should worry about getting traffic to the site. Got to build the product that not only people want to buy, but that you legally have the right to sell first.

There is some great advice in this forum from lots of experienced pros, but please do yourself a favor, take a step back, remove all the content you are not absolutely 100% positive you have a license for, purchase legit content, redo the tour and then start approaching the traffic question again.

I don't get it -- is this a porn site or a hookup site?

    - For starters depending on what the site is will determine which type of traffic is suitable.

    - Secondly, it will also determine whether you should be using content at all.

If it's a hookup site you shouldn't be using any content except for the window dressing. To trick people into thinking that models are there to hookup with ya is so not on.

    So you need to:

    - dump the illegal content, photos, images, banners, -- etc...
    - define what it is you're selling
    - Look at what other people have done in the same niche (to get general ideas of structure only.)
    - re-build the site accordingly
    - Then figure out your traffic plan

or something roughly in that order...

For anyone who has stolen content on there...

The current technical contact is the former domain registrant. The change in ownership was made around May 2005.

Doesn't look like they were just a host registering the domain either. The copyright on this page from 02/02/01 is Great Atlantic Corporation also...

Sometimes I wonder if people have any common sense. To have a site with stolen content and then go to a Webmaster board and ask how to get traffic to it is like looting a computer, then taking it back to the store you stole it from and asking them how to set it up.

Trying to excuse it by saying he just bought the site doesn't make him look any smarter. He obviously knew he did not have licenses for the content, and therefore must have known it was stolen or illegal. He should have taken everything down and started from scratch if that was the case.

I'm sorry it happened to you Squirt, nothing worse then the feeling of finding the content you work your ass off to make get stolen from you and used in this way.

I remember a thread about it, but can't recall what the site was. :juggle:
