The Great American Straight Niche Debate: Participate in my story

So, I'm going to be doing a major feature for AVN Online on the "straight niche" in the gay adult community, and I'm looking for a wide range of thoughts, feelings and opinions on this topic. I really want to take the issue apart and examine it from all sides--those for it, those against it, those in the middle.

I was originally going to do this story as an op-ed, but I realized that it would be a much more thorough story if I opened it up and let other people shares their views on the topic, and I think it will be a great opportunity for me to try and understand it from someone else's point of view.

to clarify, do you mean straight niche as in straight guys jacking off or straight guys seduced or paid to do gay porn? or do you mean straight porn being watched by men in order to enjoy seeing the str8 pornstars in action?

To clarify: When I say "straight niche," I predominantly mean sites that use gay-for-pay or all-out straight models.

If you're wondering what might be controversial about that, there are many who feel that using straight and/or gay-for-pay models promotes a sense of detachment and self-loathing within the gay community.

And there are also those who see the niche as being very harmless and just something to get off to. And still others see it as a form of gay empowerment (gay men telling straight guys what to do/having control over those who have traditionally oppressed us).

I'd like to try and get to the bottom of why gay men are attracted to such a niche (is it that we want something we can't have? or is it simply an emphasis on masculinity? and if so, what's to say that gay men can't be masculine?), but I also want to make sure that the story is not one-sided, so it's very important for me to make sure that all opinions are represented so that it's well-rounded and fair.

Kind of all of the above in a way. I guess well-known examples of these sites would be AmateurStraightGuys, Fratmen, and CuriousCash, among many others.
