TGP Question

Hi all,

I have no experience with TGPs and I'm wondering if someone can help me out with this question.

I run an uncut Euro guy site that's a MANcheck affiliate. I'm wondering about putting banners up on the TGP submission page to promote my AVS site.

Is that just a dumb idea? Or am I on the right track?

I figure if I get them to my site, they'll see how nicely its designed, and how much uncut cock is there, and they'll want to sign up with MANcheck to see more.

I'm also enrolled in a banner exchange program, so the added traffic will boost with my credits, which will get my banners out there on other sites.

Finally, if they like the guy in the TGP, and I send them to his page on my site, then they will probably want to see more of him.

Is it stupid to promote an AVS site? Or, should I be promoting one of my other sponsors on my TGP submission like Randy Blue or Naked Sword?

It sounds like you trying to sell memberships on yur submission page.

Why would a surfer be on your TGPs submission page?

If you want to put ads on your submission page they should be aimed at other webmasters.

Perhaps I'm completely misunderstanding your post in which case I appologise.

I think it's a good idea! My first two reasons...

1 - almost everyone else promotes a sponsor from a TGP page. By breaking from the typical you may get more of a sales reaction. I'm not saying you're the only one doing this LOL but fewer people do this.

2 - you're using the traffic. You're not only getting traffic and attempting to make sales but your making it productive to gain MORE traffic. I don't see anything wrong about that, in fact I see more right with that. You may also want to add a counter to your site as well that helps get more traffic too.

In regards to #2... Years ago Mike Fold told me to add counters (and banner exchanges) so that for every surfer I get who is not going to buy, I could swap them out for better surfers who will probably want to buy. So by adding these to your site, your effectively working your traffic.

I would not bother putting anything up on the tgp submit page. People who do tgp submits for the most part do it via an automated tool and if it is not fully automated (like if you require the submit code entered) most will surf to your page thru a form filler tool with image downloads turned off. Plus webmasters submitting tgp sites generally don't care about seeing more porn or already have AVS memberships that they bought through their own accounts.

If you still want to put up a link, save your bandwidth and go with a very simple text link if anything.

I making an assumption, so I just want to clear something up...

Dzinerbear, when you say "TGP submission" you're talking about the gallery your are submitting to a site, correct?

Or are you talking about owning a Thumb Gallery site, and speaking of the page a webmaster will enter their submits to?

Yeah, sorry guys, I guess as a TGP virgin I messed up on the terminology.

I want to use the TGP gallery that I submitted to Cumsoda to get traffic to my AVS site to sell MANcheck memberships.

Sorry if I balled it up. I submitted it this afternoon (with Bec and Gary's help) and away we go.

So, I guess you could say my cherry's been popped. (No rude remarks, please.)

No fair! You can't say "cherry popped" around here and not allow for rude remarks!!

And I don't see a problem promoting an AVS site through TGPs. You probably have other sponsors on your AVS site, I'm assuming? Other banners in and around it? So might as well get the traffic to it.

I promote free sites on TGPs. No sponsor banners or nothin. Just the free site. There's nothing I'm selling on the gallery I submit itself, but figuring that free porn-lovin' TGP surfer will also bookmark my free site just as they have the TGP and become a regular visitor, thereby potentially becoming a sale off of the free site every single time they come visit it rather than the once I exposed them to a TG.

AVS could work similarly. If you update it and it's got some substantive content to it, that surfer might not only become a Mancheck conversion but also one for any of the other sponsors you have on your AVS site down the line.

Oh, puhleeease, virgin boy! We would not be rude to you, especially not so quickly after your first time, after all you may still be a bit sensitive from the experience.

Yes, upselling an AVS site from a TGP is very common and works pretty well too, especially if you give them teaser pics that you use in your tour...that keeps the continuity and it makes for a natural progression to paying for more of what they like.

Interesting that BDBionic uses TGP's only to promote free sites. I've been using my last few TGP postings to promote my free site, but in a roundabout way. I make the main thrust of my TGP promotion to my sponsor site, but at the bottom of the gallery page I have a text link to a top list with my free site code on it. That way it boosts my free site ranking on the top list and increases the number of hits back to my free site, compared to the number of hits from the TGP gallery to the top list.
