Post Promoting Your Sponsors 'Outside The Box'

Okay i think its fair to say that all of us are familiar with the 'common' methods of promoting our sponsors, free sites, tgp posting, AEN sites, PPC etc etc however, when was the last time you did something that didnt fit in to the 'norm' to find it worked? You might want to have a go at what im about to tell if you have never tried alternate methods of promoting your sponsors.

A lot of sites have newsletters attached to them these days, paysites in particular but, rather than starting your own 'newsletter' why not take the same approach to promote your sponsors and, some email collection programs? Ill explain..

Most newsletters that get sent out for surfers tend to have a few pics on them, a couple of links to the newsletter owners sponsors, maybe a story or two and some jokes, once these emails get sent, thats the end of that but, what if we turned all that work in to something that could not only get us additional targeted traffic but, generate some additional income streams also?

We've been doing this on and off for the past couple of years and, we're noticing some interesting things:

    1) These pages are being picked up and indexed by the SE's, some of the rank in the top 5 results for some specific search terms.

    2) Signups to the email collection sponsors we use have increased tenfold in the last 24 months.

    3) Signups to paysites has increased about 15% in the last 12 months.

    4) Page rank and link popularity to some of our hub sites have increased.

So what do you need in order to get building some of these pages? Actually, next to nothing at all, no more than 10 pics, a couple of jokes (which we all know at least 10 of), a story (could be a paragraph if you wanted, its your site) and, some links to your sponsors oh, and an email collection program, the one we're doing quite well with at the moment is from GammaCash so you may want to give them a go but, there are several others you could use which work just as well

So, you take a blank page, throw up 10 pics surrounded by text and a joke, add some meta tags, h tags and keyword rich text upload it to your domain and you are done. All in all, this should take around about 15-20 minutes per page and, if you only build 1 new targeted page a day, that gives you 365 highly targeted, niche specific sources of traffic, some of it search engine traffic.

Remember, thinking outside the box doesnt have to complicate things as what i described above proves, sometimes, it can actually cut your workload in half and double your sales, give it a try and see if you dont make sales from these one page wonders yourself, you only have 15 minutes to lose.

Good post, Lee. I like these "new" style posts. Very helpful and informative.

I just wonder how you deal with the whole spam e-mail thing. People forget what they sign up for and agree to, and people are so quick to push the "abuse" button. I've thought about doing e-mail stuff before (legitimately of course) but getting my domains in trouble has always prevented me.

    Ideas?

i know how ya feel. i actually bought a pretty neat "porn in your email" script, but i never got around to using it out of concern that people DO forget what they sign up for - and also if their family or boss sees the email, they usually lie and may have to actually complain in order to clear themselves.
